sorry to kill further polishing discussion, but i decided that it was too expensive to do something so small as polishing out badge spots when i could just refinish my old badges and put them back on for almost free. Its not as good as the debadged look but its a lot more clean than the old boring ones. So i sprayed them metalic then clearcoated them to make them look like a professional finish. then i took double sided foam adhesive strips and stuck them back on. heres a few pics of the finished product. The old badges were a dull black.

Looks good, almost like the Grafxwerks overlays. Only advice I can give now is wash your car!

my 94 had some type of cement glue when i was removing mine. the front driver side V6 badge was held on by cement glue. i got the badge off...after fighting it and realized the problem. so i didn't bother tempting to take it off, so i kept thebadge on.

I don't know why you would want to debadge your car, are you that embarrased of it. Don't think it improves the looks. IMO.

i think debadging it makes the body look a little more smoother. and it's easier to wax as well

Waxing is a lame excuse for debadging. If your patient enough you can wax around them nicely.

I can't say I'm patient enough to wax or polish around badges.

Personally I enjoy the clean look of no badges and the ease of washing. If someone else wanted to sit there with a Q-tip and clean all around them, be my guest.

i didn't take them off to make the waxing easier andmore efficient. taking them off helps relieve the tediousness (that a word?) of taking a q-tip and going all around. i'd rather worry more about getting the wax in my weather stripping and other rubber pieces

I agree, i dont know how people get wax all over and in their badges, i mean seriously, just watch what your doing

Only thing i dont like about badges during detailing is i have to tape them up becuase if my buffer touches them even for a split second.......buh bye badge.

well that's your opinion then. if someone is asking for help on debadging a car, don't tell them"oh you shouldn't do that, it's a stupid idea" well it's not your car he's debadging now is it.
what Coupe said is what i meant as well when detailing your car ,it's easier
