http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Wh3MeeB...0&I=500SWR1242 i want to spend less than 350 on an amp. i wanna stick with some brands like Kenwood, Alpine, Infinity, Kicker, etc i was thinking this might be a good amp? http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Wh3MeeB...0&I=500MRPM650 some of you have talked to me about other systems, and the reason im stuck on a single 12 is i dont want to blow my head off with bass, and i want to be able to have good sound quality and hear my other 4 speakers. and since i listen to other |

why do you want to limit yourself? not sayin that Type R's suck, but there is better stuff for less

Check out a Kicker ZX400.1 or KX600.1. I've owned both amps, the 400.1 put out 456 watts rms @ 2 ohms(birth sheet) and my 600.1 puts out 678 rms @ 2 ohms.

ew to kicker amps. iv honestly heard more bad than good when it comes to them....i guess that alpine you showed us up there would indeed be a good match to thoes subs. i believe metalman on this site would agree that their amps are the greatest.
-maybe before subs; you should look at speakers cuz i get a feeling you want balance and speakers play a big role in your sound stage. i love my infinitys; i picked up my 5.25s for like 40 bucks cuz they are last year's 4ohm models. i dont know, think about that maybe first

I'd go with Kicker, customer service is great if you ever have any problems with it. You wont be disappointed.

maybe do your speakers first....cuz the stock stuff is pretty lousy compared to some even more moderately priced aftermarkets. INFINITY FTW!

that Alpine amp would be a good match. i'm not a Alpine speaker fan, but i have no problems with there amps. the 2 that i have owned have been good and reliable. i wish i could say the same for Kicker amps.
i personally would not get that amp. i'd get this one. http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=17675 Excelon amps, imo, are a steal for the money. if you want some suggestions for speakers, start a new thread and let us know. i'd give you a few brands that you should really hear before you buy anything.

and then of course there are these i have the brutus line which is 2 levels above this but im still fully considering the titan line to amp my speakers with:
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=16337 all in all, i think anythig for what you and any other high school kid can afford is pretty equal. i mean i got nicer stuff but i got all of it at good good prices off of ebay.

indeed. really you cant go wrong with either. i just perfer Kenwood over Alpine, and the main reason is cost. as far as Hifonics amps go, i'm yet to have experiance with them. however, there is only one store that sells them here in town, and there the laughing stock of all the other stores. there a joke, so them selling them, and no one else even wanting to gives me a bad feeling. could be wrong, but thats just the vibe i get.

as i said, i havent had experiance with Hifonics amps, so i really dont know. but just based on who sells them in town makes them questionable.
personally i think most Kenwood sucks. there Excelon amps are pretty good. same with there HU's. there sub and speakers are nothing to get too excited about though. i'd say there a good bang for the buck.
