SCYTEK car alarms

anyone know much about ScyTek pager alarms? im looking at the 5000RS-2W model (car alarm, pager, and remote start). any idea what im looking at for installation costs? thanks in advance

I've never heard the name. I'd stick with DEI security systems, they're probably the most reputable. As for installation, call shops in your area and they'll give you installed prices on the systems they offer.

There not bad i have put some in. If your looking at getting it for the camera i wouldn't recommend it. It's more of a sales gimic the pictures are not that great. I run the compustar pro series line. www.compustar.com .

i think im looking at mainly the galaxy series line unless they are going to be a beast to have installed (money wise).

There not going to be any diffrent then any other alarm out there but for the money i would go with either a DEI product like suggested earlier or go compustar. Those galaxy remotes look so cheap. They also come with a lifetime warranty on everything. So if you have any problems your pretty much set. Research a bunch when choosing an alarm you don't want to go with anything thats going to cry wolf if you get my drift.

ok so when installing an alarm are there any other parts needed (like a mount, antenna adapter, and harnes when installing a aftermark deck)?
and does best buy or circuit city have anything moderately nice?

BB and CC both sell DEI. BB sells Viper, CC Python. same damn thing, differnt name

Do you plan on installing the starter/alarm yourself? If so i want pics of the install

. You are going to need a GMBP bypass module to bypass the factory passlock or you can go to radioshack and wire up some resistors. I don't recommend resistors though.

probley about $205 labor and 45 for your bypass module fully loaded.

oh god....thats a lot plus the alarm itself. and if i were to get a remote start one it would push it to 250 labor prbly.

soo do i get a free GAGT membership for a year if i install the alarm and a remote start myself and everything works?

would a video be in need to validate everything working?

or is it not THAT hard

It's really not to hard..
You tag the bypass into the obiII port get your locks/door pins in the drivers kick panel, power from behind the key cylinder, run a hood pin/tack/siren wire threw the firewall. Tag into your tach wire off an injector mount the siren. I could probley get you a pretty ez write up if you wanted it.
