Depends on what sort of output your computer has. Using an S-Video cable seems to be the standard.

Also, what brand of cables are these??? The shielding doesn't look to be all that great on them, and they look to be pretty plain. Also, I have a hard time believing they can do 5 Gbps. I work for Best Buy in the Home Theater dept. and not even our Monster Cable 600 series HDMI's can do 5 Gbps. Only the 800 and 1000 series can, but those are $105 and $130 respectively. You need a cable that can do 6-7 for Blu-Ray and true 1080p High Def, but even 4 is pretty much overkill for today's HD programming.

What is "true 1080p high definition" ?

First of all Monster cable is probably one of the biggest rip off I have ever seen personally. The 800 and 1000 series cables that costs 100+, in reality it costs them hardly nothing to produce. The mark up is beyond comprehension. Don’t tell me you’ve fallen for the advertising hype on cables too! Sure there are good and bad cables but the big name brands are way overpriced. A good HDMI cable should not cost much more than an Ethernet cable. Companies that use use good cables and connectors produce fine cables without the overpriced advertising costs added in.

To answer your other questions, the brand of these cables are made from a company called AWM Products. The shielding is decent enough compared to many other brands out there. I bought one for myself and did not notice a lick of difference between the ones I got and Monster Cable.
