Custom GA hood

I was cruising th local classifieds, and I came accross an add that said "Custom GA Hood for Sale". So I E-mailed the guy, and he tells me that it is a stock GA hood (Steele), with the Ram Air scoops molded from a Firebird T/A. This is very apealing, since the guy is colse by, adn the hood is already painted the same color as my car. Let me know what you think.

Looks good on some cars, sticks out too much on others. If you have a SC/T spoiler, rims, and lowered, it would look good. On a totally stock car, it looks odd.

Yeah, my 'GAGT is a stock (for now) 4 door, similar to the one in the pic. I don't think that it loooks all that bad, but I haven't seen it in person yet. I do plan on lowering the car, adding the SC/T spoiler, and cross drilled/slotted rotors to my car at some point. But I've priced out the stock non-functional SC/T hood for $700.00+shipping (CDN),. and then I would have to paint it after. I've found a place 'bout 2 1/2 hour away from me that make a functional fiber glass hood like the SC/T for $500.00 (CDN), but again, I would have to get it painted. The same shop also make that hood in Carbon Fiber for $700.00 (CDN). This guy is selling the hood for $500.00 o.b.o.(CDN), and it's the correct color for my car. Truth be told, I shouldn't even be looking at this hood right now, but the price and color are too hard to pass up.

I want a hood that only vents air out... Too bad no one makes one, as far as I know. My engine is getting very hot and there is no where for the air to go. Its just bakin under there.

ya, i'm kind of beginning to think that a hood is the last thing you should do as it kind of "finishes" off the package

I'd say don't do it. The money can be much better spent towards new wheels or something. Like said above you'd need other mods to compliment the hood otherwise it just looks out of place.

The hood looks like **** on the SE, on a GT I think it would look wicked. Get the exact same hood in CF...now THAT would look awesome.

It doesnt really look that good to begin with, but it really clashes with the stock bumpers. Maybe on something like an RK or *** it would be okay, since youre changing the lines anyways.

I think that I will pass on the hood. Something 'bout fiberglass bonded to metal worries be 'bout possible body work down the road. Since the scoops aren't functional, it is nothing more than a big bug catcher. I want a SC/T hood bad, just don't want to pay for the shipping.

There is alot of upkeep on these hoods. From what I know they are riveted to the car, then fiberglassed for a clean look. But the rivets from what I've read pop out over time and you have to get them reworked to keep the appearance.

Now I would wonder if we could find a company to produce this hood in a solid piece, fiberglass or cf. Perhaps email PFYC and see if they can contact one of their suppliers?

That hood in CF would be sweeeeeeeeeeet. But I'm still a big fan of the SD hood.

I think it looks like crap. But hey maybe the guy didn't want to be able to see over his hood. Or maybe he wanted to have difficulty parking fowards, which is why he was backed into the spot. I don't know, but I wouldn't put that horrific thing on my car. To each their own I guess.

even with proper modifications, i do not think this hood will look good. the lines of the hood don't match the car at all. i really think the only nice hoods for our car are the sc/t or sd hoods.

uhhh, i think those scoops are too high up on the hood..it ruins the flow. don't worry, i like the ws6 scoops..im just not fond of your placement.
