Bi Xenon is 1 bulb. It has a solenoid attached to the back of the bulb. When you turn the headlights to "bright", it physically pushes the bulb forward in the headlight housing to change the light output. It changes the light output because the point at where the bulb actually lights is in a different position in the headlamp housing. Its pretty sweet how it actually works.

Yep, exactly how mine work. I love them. If you want HIDs, I high suggest a bi-xenon setup, not only will you maintain the function of high and low beams for various reasons (Saying you dont need them because HIDs are bright enough in low beams is just what people say to make themselves feel better about getting standard HIDS), but you also wont have an SES or SVS light on all the time due to either a hack job install, or having a single beam bulb.

they both go in the same area together. One goes further than the other for hi/low beam.

I believe the hids in my Maxima has a shield that moves when switching to bright.
Honestly, I can't see too good with just the hids in most conditions. The fog lights provide decent light on the ground and they are standard h3 bulbs. The hids seem best with the brights but I get flashed.

I thought the new Buicks have an hid option and the Ford 500 ?
