The OEM hood doesn't use any "shims". Maybe they mean stock mounting hardware?

just a heads up to anyone who is going to buy from cerious ... i received the sc/t spoiler a few weeks ago. i thought for close to $400 with shipping it would have been made with a little higher quality. after i used a clay bar and wax to get it glossy and shiny, i noticed alot of defects in it. alot of filmy and cloudy areas in the coating that i didn't encounter in the hood i paid less for from JSP. *will post pics shortly

did you contact cerious about this? i would make a point to contact them first, perhaps it was part of a bad batch, and work things out before slamming them publicly because there may very well be a valid explanation.

sorry ajaxus. i wasnt slamming them. i was just informing everyone of my personal experience with that company. that is one of this forum's purpose is. if i am wrong please let me know. i was very pleased with the service i received from them. the guy i talked to on the phone several times was very informative and polite. i was just not happy with the quality of the spoiler.

i also think we should be free of bias on this forum.

the thing is, i haven't heard of a bad product from them until your post. and it seems more logical to me to go to the manufacturer first to find out if it was a small mistake on their part (and see if you can get a replacement) before putting a mark on their record.

that approach works better for both parties in the long run.

I am biased somewhat but I wouldn't go by the info on their site as IMO their site sucks. Call the number ask for Will and see what their inventory is like- it's a lot quicker then speculating.

Except for all the posts I've made about the poor quality of the hood I got from them.

this is after i washed, clay barred, waxed, and washed my car. you can see the cloudy areas under the surface of the coating of the spoiler. 'it is hard to get a compressed quality picture'
