What is this 'search' you speak of?
It is his first post though.. Click on the green search button and type in main words for what you're looking for. (i.e. head unit install, stereo wiring, yadayada)

I know how to take everything apart and I tried to search but didn't come up with what I'm needing. I'm sorry I should have been more specific. The wireing adapter is what is giving me trouble and I was hopeing someone would have instructions for it be cause I hooked it up the same as any other wireing adapter I have used on other cars I have installed stereos in but the cd player isn't turning on and I didn't know if there was something special I need to do but didn't since I don't have the instructions. I don't like the new GM setup of intgrating the warning chimes. I've never seen something like that before.

To add to what's already here, you can't get switched power from the stock wiring harness. You'll need to tap into something in the fusebox and run it to the SWITCHED + input of your aftermarket radio.

Well in a round about way I got it hooked up and its working. I don't like the dash mount kit my buddie gave me because its really cheap and doesn't fit to my dash bezel for crap so I'm going to get the metra dash adapter from a car audio shop near by. After that I might post afew pics cause I think my head unit looks really good in my car because its a sony with a silver face rather than black like most so it matches the knobs and buttons in the car and then it has a feature that lets you change display colors so I set it on red and it matches all my gauges and other factory lighting. Thanks for everyone's help. I almost forgot what do you guys/girls think my next audio purschase should be? I have everything factory except the stereo I just put in and I do not have any special factory system its all basic stuff.

Dome lights
After installing my Alpine head unit using the correct Integration adapter, my dome lights don't work properly. If I let the car sit for a period of time (not sure how long because I haven't timed it) but lets say overnight, when I hit the keyless entry button to unlock the door the dome lights and map lights used to come on, not anymore. When I open the door after that, no dome lights or map lights. If I put my key in the ignition then turn it, ta da I have dome and map lights. Shut it down pull the key and they still work, it's only after it sits that they don't work anymore. Any ideas? TIA
