What was exactly required to make the hids work? in place of whatever h1 or h3 bulb that the light needs.

It was misinformation. HIDs do not out out more heat than stock. No fear of Melting

any pics of the trimming that needed to be done. also i saw the pics you took of the headlight instal, Geez that was alot of hacking. i`d love to see a pic of your housings before and after or even side by side with stock, just to get an idea before i start hacking away. I just bought a GA and this is def the mod on the top of my list!

JRYAN34 is infamous around these parts, but not in a good way
I was thinking about getting these.....

Can you use 9007 HIDs?
How much cutting if actually needed?
Are the headlights themselves actually plug and play or do you need another switch for the halo rings?

as answered in you other thread..... You CANNOT use 9007 bulbs! Cant be done, stop asking. You saw the pics posted in your thread of the cutting that is necessary.
It's up to you on how the halos get wired, so they can work however/whenever you want.

You should definitely do a how to write up on this. I have a set of these being delivered today and may swap to HID in the future. No money to do it now, so I'll just have to rock the halogens for a while.

I don't drive much at night, mostly just to work and back these days. We usually take the wife's Santa Fe for our running around (easier to get the baby in and out of).

I'm gonna run to pep boys in the morning and get some better bulbs than what they came with before I install. Hopefully that will help a bit.

Did you dissable the DRLs? Just curious cause I might tackle that tomorrow too.

As for the writeup, I was thinking more about the HID's as I have zero experience with them.

for the hids since h1 isnt plug and play with 9007 you just find the + and - in the factory harness and tie the + and - from the hid kit into that its really simple if u have a volt meter

Cool. I'll probably look into that after the first of the year. Getting ready to install mine now. Got some Sylvania Silver Star bulbs for it. Just got done verifying that everything works, now I'm getting ready to cut.
