Ten grand into a turbo setup? Is that JUST the turbo setup, or engine and trans stuff too?

his routing of the piping and lines looks poor, needs to definetly clean it up a bit. and dyno tuning is not the proper way to tune a car. needs a good street tune before even getting on a dyno to fine tune.

Turbolag is foreplay, but when the turbo kicks in then u'll blow your load.

Haha, I just got off the phone telling him you asked that and he gave me a list

He bought the gauge pod, the gauges (Autometer scan gauge, full sweep electric oil pressure and boost gauge) so nearly 1,000 on the gauges, 1000 getting the manifolds, valve covers, turbo piping and turbo coated in hypershine, Engine rebuild was several hundred, 42.5 lb/hr injectors were 400 or so plus the adapters were like 80, the spacers between the UIM and LIM were 80, the tuning software was 400, the turbo kit itself was 2500 Then a bunch of little things like he got the projector head lights, the LED tail lights, new HID kit, and I think one of the cooler things were the custom badges he had made, here's the picture he sent me.

These pictures were literally taken the second the last bolt was tightened, I haven't seen the car in a while but he has wrapped a lot of the wires and piping in heat wrap, zip tied a lot of them away and every thing but there is very little to do with the piping as it is all exactly where the manufacture designed it to be. The street tune is already done enough so he could get the car home and drive it but now he needs it perfected which I am no expert because I am not boosted but that is a dyno tune.

Alright, makes a little more sense. Not everything was part of the turbo setup. $1000 for the gauges is ridiculous, as well as $2500 on a turbo. A properly sized BALL BEARING turbo costs around $1500.

even a ballbearing from garrett brand new is only like 1300. t3t4 more than likely. if he got the piping and intercooler maybe but if he paid 2500 for just the turbo he got jacked!!! not tryin to start anything and its a nice setup but im just a litte skeptical about prices!

Lol well I could give a rats ass about the prices, he is the one paying for it, but if you want to verify the prices on the gauges he got the C2 model full sweep electric for both which are 200 a piece so there is 400 the scan gauge is 250 the AEM wide band O2 sensor was 250 the 3 gauge pod was 40 and the custom plexiglass thing that he needed to put the standard size gauge in the vent. Then it was 2500 for the intercooler, piping and the turbo as well as all the supporting thing that are needed for it like the modified coolany hose and other stuff.

Why not? It would be pretty boring here if there was never any drama about anything.

gauges are f'en expensive when you start to add it up $1000 isnt that far fetched...$2500 for the turbo is way too high

Makes sense now, for all of that stuff. You made it sound like he payed the $2500 for ONLY the turbo.
