monsoon vs. aftermarket H/U

I have an 02 G/A with the monsoon system. i added 1 12in. rockford sub and rockford amp. i used a line in converter wired off of the trunk mounted amp. Sound wise everything sounds good, the monsoon sounded good and with the added bass it was exactly what was missing. My problem is my factory h/u gets stupid at times..ie doesnt want to play, starts in the middle of a track, skips...etc. I have been thinking about putting an aftermarket cd player in, but dont feel like changing out all the speakers yet and runing all the speaker wire. Sound wise whats the difference by adding the cd player to the other stock components?? i already have a 7 month old alpine 45x4. i like the sound i have now with monsoon when its working that is

you dont have to rewire all the speakers if all your doing is changing the headunit. The only reason you would have to rewire is if you were going to get new speakers as well. sound quality is still gonna be there. all i have is the components in the front door hooked up along with my sub and is sounds just as good as any other system. You have the highs(tweeter), mids(4x6's), and low(sub) frequencies. Thats all you need.

aftermarket CAN be better if you get a higher end unit, but it wont fit the interior style/color like the factory unit. the cost of a good aftermarket head unit is about the same as an OEM monsoon head unit.

I UNDERSTAND THIS.... I WAS REFERING TO JUST THE HEAD UNIT SWAP. I HAVE HEARD SOME SYSTEMS SOUND WORST WITH JUST CHANGING HEAD UNIT AND LEAVING THE STOCK SPEAKERS...THIS IS WHAT IM ASKING. I HAVE DONE QUITE A FEW SYSTEMS BEFORE BUT THIS IS MY FIRST MONSOON. I DONT WANNA GET CRAZY WITH THIS SYSTEM BECAUSE THIS IS JUST MY DAILY DRIVER...RATHER SPEND THE MONEY ON MY REAL TOYS. THANKS FOR THE IMPUT GUYS

Its all the same. Change the interior speakers and you will be fine. You dont have to go crazy at all to make it sound decent. There is a thread on the pin out for the stock amp.
