It does have a bit of a CRX look to the overall shape.

Porsche stated a few months ago that due to the numbers of vehicles they sell in the Midwest (very small) that it would be better to put their money towards chasing people on the coasts. I think it's kind of lame. If Ferarri can come Porsche can too.

That might be the worst marketing strategy ever... "If we don't have a strong following there, we'll just leave!" Why not try to steal Caddy or BMW owners? Stupid, but fine with me since the Carerra GT is the only Porsche I care about.

that is pretty stupid. this year i did carpentry and lighting for the autoshow and everyday on break, i'd kinda wander around looking for Porsche. guess I shoulda asked on here earlier or used the googles.

Id guess 40's. I cant see to many 'cheap' versions of it being produced.

One would think but not neccessarily when it comes to cars or even clothes as well. Cars being driven on the street are are a rolling advertisment. Why else do you think Cadillac made their logo a huge ungodly size. Not to mention the GM stamp on cars. Companies spend huge amounts of $$$$ on Market studies, and advertising, it must be a really good reason why Porsche is choosing not to be there.

I still think it is silly; Oakland County is one of the top 30 wealthiest counties in the country, per capita. People drive BMW's, Merc's and Caddies like no one business. There are plenty of wealthy cities outside Oakland, also... Going to Detroit and showing higher end vehicles seems like a no-brainer. People here own Ferarri's and Lamborghini's too, granted it is no where near the number on the West/East coast but there is a lot of money in the aforementioned area.

Metro Detroit's suburbs are among the most affluent in the nation. Oakland County is the fourth wealthiest county in the United States among counties with more than one million people

It's a few counties though and the overall midwest is not by any means a large market for any type of retailer.

From a marketing standpoint it makes perfect sense. Larger volume areas such as the East and West Coast drive trends in lower market areas such as the midwest. From a price standpoint, Porsches are at the high end of the spectrum thus indicating an affluent purchasing power and an implied "persona" is the easiest way to put it. Not everyone can afford a Porsche and if you are purchasing one you already recognize the qualities that makes it what it is.

The perceived value of going to something in the midwest is probably much higher than what it actually is. As with any product with a high price point in a given market, with this comes an inherent quality and durability- thus propagating customer loyalty and future sales.

By focusing and allocating monies toward other shows in more lucrative areas, they can more easily develop trends and "buzz" around new products which will transcend to less populated areas. It's all about efficiency- eyeballs/interest per dollar.

Anyways, back on topic. I actually really like the rear of the car as well. It gives the Caddy a Gallardo look to it based on the lines.
