More parts have come in, and I have nearly everything to assemble a longblock. Ive got to decide on a cam still, since Ive decided to go turbo instead. Block needs honing, and the rods need to be shot peened, and I have to pick out some injectors as well. Slowly but surely its all coming together. Once xmas has passed, I can afford to spend more money on parts again.

For the engine, not too much. I need injectors, hone the block, another cam, shot peen the rods, polish the crank journals, cam bearings, main bearings, rod bearings, head gaskets, and the rest is coming off of my current motor. I was going to get the heads ported, but they will stay stock for now. Felpro is coming out with their gaskets for the 3500 in the springtime, so im going to wait till then to have em' done. Im not going to put the engine in until I get a transmission built also.

Not quite 8 months. Im getting kinda impatient right now because Ive got to watch money kind of carefully till after xmas. After the motor and trans are done, I'll drop them in the car. Id like that done by march. After that will come the turbo setup, and I hope that is done by june.

I hope I dont break $10k. Im at around $2500 on the engine, and its not done. The transmission will be the most expensive, because Im going to HAVE to pay for labor on that. Most everything else, Im capable of doing myself.

I think Im going to abandon the turbo, and stick with what Ive already got. I have nearly everything I need for a built N/A motor right now, and there is still nitrous on my car as well. Right now Im working on selling my forged pistons to get another set of higher compression forged pistons. The transmission is going to get beat into the ground until it breaks or I come across some $$$

My mom has been unemployed for the last 6 months, as a result of some medical problems. Medical bills and other expenses are starting to pile up because of her not being able to work. Spending all of this money on my car is very selfish when I could be helping her out. Rather than putting all of this on hold and never finishing, Im going back to my original plans of high compression.

Thanks for the support guys. She isnt dying or anything crazy, just not well enough to work. Back in June she had surgery on her knee, and from favoring the other leg while it was healing she tore a tendon and broke a bone in her foot. Injuries have piled on top of eachother, and its taking a while to get healed again.

I'd recommend going back to a stock temp thermostat. Using a 180 tstat to lower KR is not needed when you have tuning software.

Everything looks good, Jared....but do you really think you'll need 36# injectors? Don't think the plug-and-play 28#'ers from a 4.2L I6 will be enough?
