Id say that is about high 12s low 13s territory for sure. Heads and a cam would help you out a lot as well im sure. I think schweppes 12 sec run was on 11ish lbs of boost. Your best is around a 13.4 isnt it? Build up that motor a little more with some rods, pistons, heads and a cam. I could see you hitting 11s with all of that and slicks+ a trans that wont explode.

Yeh im worried about the trans but 1 or 2 passes and ill be ready to pack it up cause ive flirted with enough disaster.. Business is slow at toyota so when it picks up i already have a build sheet and hoping it puts me at a 12.0 or high 11's?? ~400whp?? Just guessing..

Fixed for ya. Milzy doesn't make the injectors and TB. He's a reseller of those items. Anyway, I'd ditch the stock MAF for an LS1. Even at 7psi it's going to be a restriction and if you're upping the boost it may even max out the stock MAF. Milzy can load the LS1 MAF table to your pcm for you.

At 10+ psi you'll definitely make some nice power, and its possible trans won't break, but it will definitely be slipping. The clutches won't hold even one run at that power level. Because of that, I definitely would NOT use slicks! Without the upgraded clutch plates and LSD you will not be able to put down the power to take advantage of slicks and you'll just be more likely to break something. Drag radials should be enough.

Dont worry i will.. I drive it to work everyday and i have full interior also, with a/c, with me in it and a 1/4 tank i belive its 3540lbs? I cranked the boost up to 10-11psi today with the meth injection and well, yeh i think i wounded the clutches a litte bit so no more rompin till the track.. I have spots marked, round about, a 1/4 mile mark and i was +107mph trap.. spinning I do want a little softer tread though cause the g-force sports spin badly. Ill try the qtp slicks @ 34-38psi and lower the t.p. as necessary.. I challenged my friend with a auto 2006 mustang gt to race me so it should be a a decent vid. and if i dont hit 12's ill be real close or ill have a vid of a gagt blowing his tranny out at the track

Please be carefull, it's easy to mistake tire spin and clutch slippage if you're not familiar with it.

I definitely don't want you to smoke your trans. That's a big ouch on the wallet, trust me on that one

With his power level it's just a matter of time before the trans goes anyway. It's inevitable.

It slips worst on the shifts. It will feel normal during part throttle driving, but if you're at WOT and hold it during shifts (like in a racing situation), it will shift into the next gear and seem to hang there for a bit before it accelerates but the engine will be up around 4-5000 rpm. The clutches just slip and let the engine spin and waste all your power until they finally grab and then you only get about 1000 rpm of usable acceleration.

Thats exactly what happened to me. I went from 190whp to 235whp but my track times stayed the same. I had more power in a single gear pull on the dyno, but the extra power was wasted and time lost on every shift.

and this is where torque management settings come in really nicely. Might not have that problem quite as bad (you'll still have some on stock clutches) if you increase line pressures to max on the upshift, decrease shift time, and drop the timing a couple of degrees on the upshift point. (said the guy that already burnt his transmission up...hahaha).

I already had my transmission settings reprogrammed by DHP during that time and the clutches still burnt up. There is a limit to how much line pressure you can run. Bottom line is, stock clutches can't hold the torque.

Ive got a suggestion for this contest in order to make it more fair IMO. Right now its the first person that can get to a track and run a couple of documented 12sec passes.

I say it should be the same requirements as far as verification, but the fastest time at the end of the season or predetermined deadline is the winner. It gives some more people a chance to get in on the action and have a fair chance at the title and pot.

Yeah i think i was like 10.5-11psi on my 12.6 runs...turns out fuel pump was running out on those runs though died a few days later. Replaced with a walbro and got the thing tuned for 14 psi...

Hey man, long time no see. Hows the car running anyway? Haven't heard anything in a while.

Interesting...... however, I will say people have had plenty of time to get something put together to compete.

It is a nice suggestion.

It would have to go to a vote.

Anybody else interested in having the rewards awarded at the end of the year? To the fastest guy doing 12's or better?

I honestly think it will make for better competition, allowing some people to get in a little later in the game. Even though tracks are open by april in most places, people have other obligations that come before their car and making it to a drag strip. Fastest verified time takes the pot and the bragging rights.
