SC Pulley

I have my new SC pulley installed. Whoa, this baby really kicks now. The pulley size is 2.5" and it gives about 2 psi more boost. Now, that is 7-8 psi of max boost in the K-ride. Can't wait for E-Town on Saturday. WOOO Doggie!

Got any pics? Where can I get one?

I've been thinking of picking up TIG welding this winter, and if I do I'm going to make a custom intercooler setup. A smaller pulley would be perfect with that! It all depends on how money is, cause TIG welding equipment ain't cheap.

Steve was using an "Underdrive Pulley". The pulley I have, spins the SC up a little faster. The underdrive pulley slows down the the accessory and that is what kills the alternator.

RAT underdrive pullies=alternator pulley and water pump pulley. Bear in mind, his car is also a 99 and was on the original alternator - how many other people have lost their OEM alternator that were not running underdrive pullies? Yeah, I know....big stereo, right? Maybe, but are we all saying to stop installing upgraded sound systems?
All modifications have a positive and a negative....just have to acknowledge the risk and accept the trade-off.

YEEE-HA!

2.4 Inch Pulley on order!!! But look out, I relayed to SPAZ the site, and he is considering his options... What an excellent site though. Glad to hear that they are so good service-wise. 2.4" pulley should give me about 20HP/lbs... there is a 2" pulley available for when I get headers and exhaust mods to rebuild any lost psi.

Should be awesome at the track if I can get the tires to plant well!!!!

Kman how long will it take to ship here? I believe that priority mail is about two days. Did it take much longer to reach you?

Pat

So, which one of the Boost Brothers will be the first to monitor air temps after the SC? I have an inkling that it's going to get rather steamy with a 2.4-2.5" pulley....also interested to see what kind of KR you guys will be seeing. Water injection, anyone?

KR is possible when it is so warm and humid. But when the air cools and dries out in the fall we will be seeing much more output from these pullies. Right now the heat will limit the usable boost pressure.

Water injection could be helpful nonetheless, after the SC. But why rig that for just hot temps... Worse come to worse I will change back to my 2.8" pulley and wait for the cooler weather to run the smaller pulley. Now to really cool things, the best way is with NOS, but that is only temporary and lacks the always on feature of the SC. But it is probably a lot cheaper and easier than the IC.

No tranny slips to date. I have the ASE chip and the shifts are firm. I hope to kick a## at E-Town. I want low 14's, if possible.

That's one small pulley. Is it a keyed or press-on pulley?
