The Camaro used for the movie, (driving scenes at least) was a modified GTO, so you should be able to picture how its supposed to look inside the wheel.

I wouldnt use any pics of the transformers camaro as the concept car, like i said, it was slightly different too as it was built specifically for a movie.

I thought I read somewhere that they actually got to use a preproduction model for the movie. They were talking about how careful they had to be with the car because there were no replacement parts if they dented it.

I could be wrong, but I swear I read that somewhere.

For sitting in it, etc... yes, but not for driving. The article I read said the wheels on the concept cars are too large to really even turn the car...

When I get a min, I will see if i can find it.

EDIT: Here is one article i found in a quick google search,

gee, really?

one of the train shipments from the California dock to the Kansas hub containing a 2005 GTO shipment derailed totalling a majority of the shipment. Those that could be salvaged were fixed, many were junked, a few of these were sent to Saleen to do the Camaro cars for the Transformer movie.

Any word on how much the production model is going to weigh in at? That thing looks like a tank probably going to be heavier than the GTO

The steering wheel looks like its out os a school bus!

Read the text that goes along with that pic on autoblog. They say it is still a concept, there have been no actual photos taken of the rear interior.

I'm just waiting for someone to post how all the V6's will become rental fleet whores.

I'm actually a little surprised at the amount of hateration from most members... and the lack of realization that this car is still MORE THAN A YEAR OFF.

I love the car, especially the black one. My only complaint is the ribs on the fenders, but I can over look that. The headlights looks pretty sweet too, but they do need to be bigger than the fog lights.

Its really not that much different than the concept.

Come on now it isn't that bad.

No its not the concept, no car ever is. But I honestly think GM is doing everything it can to keep it as close as physically and financially possible. This is also still the pre-production model. And as for the concept interior, I'm impressed that they are still basing that off the concept model too! see Dodge challenger where they completly dropped the concept interior and went for the 300/Charger/Magnum interior!

Anyway lookin good in black so far.

wow that interior is AWFUL I hope thats not production Why would you put gauges down by the shifter? Good spot to look while you're trying to drive Yea yea its pre-production but lets be honest thats probably pretty close to the final product the release is only a few months away do you really think its going to change that much from now till then? They probably already started tooling up the production line getting it ready

seriously?

EDIT:

here, for those who know NOTHING about Camaros:

And I'll say it AGAIN like Mirage just did- THIS IS NOT THE FINAL PRODUCT! The front, rear, and lighting of this car are going to change. This isn't the final product. Seriously, read the forums about the car before making stupid comments.

YEah the car isn't coming out in a couple months. Like the last 2 posters have said, I believe its like January/February 09 is the expected release date which puts it almost a year away!

When it comes to test cars they do put together some ugly things. I'm not going to judge until the finished product.

I think the interior looks cool btw. Very retro, and not too far from the concept. And I think its going to look even better when its done. BTW as for the guages, the most significant ones, the ones you acctually USE while you are driving are behind the wheel.
