I've ridden in the new Grand Cherokee a few weeks ago, just didn't do it for me. The Commander would be perfect if it were the size of a Cherokee.

Go TBSS...and out here you can get away with the RWD. My boss's TBSS has gone 12.5@113 here in Las Vegas with a bone stock tranny, stock converter and stock motor. Lots of fun!

Get pink SS badges or a pink "V" if you go with the TB or the Caddy.

They didn't change anything for 08, what's different on the front?

Spy, technically the TBSS is the only one that I would personally recommend.

I'm sure you have a well paying job, because you're going to be the local BP's best friend. I guess that's the only drawback to the truck. You can have all the fun you want, at a high gas price. And AWD is much worse with gas mileage, and trans/diff problems. Part of my motivation towards 2WD. And it's not like you need AWD in your climate. So it'd be good for holeshot.

that does seem to be what I have to think about. 2wd or AWD..............................fack.

I just think about what it would be like to launch AWD.........

oh yeah, that's the stuff.

If you're planning on dragging it like crazy, then either drivetrain you choose, theres a ton of upgrades you can do to make the trans stronger.

My buddy who used to live in MI and moved to Dallas, is on his 2nd front differential in a year. Grinding/Howling typically is the diagnosis. I had my rear diff replaced once so far for grinding while reversing and/or turning.

IMO, the SS AWD trans isn't as strong as the GC SRT8 guys. Otherwise we'd hear comparable complaints on tranny issues.

Again IMO, i'd say 2WD. You're in a hot climate, and you've got a heavy truck to move fast. Get a nice pair of DR on the rear, on a set of 18" wheels and you'll be good to go.

it's an LSx motor, I tend to think the sky is the limit with them, as long as you have an appropriate tranny bolted up. :-D

No crazy drags with this truck though, just a few outings to see what's in her. I'd rather be in Grandma.
