yeah, I would really quetion the accuracy of the mic. But, I have seen some low end sub in some crazy enclosures make some pretty crazy sound. Especially in an open vehicle like an SUV or hatch. If you had that P1 in a good box, I sure it is a lot louder than what most people think.

Yeah I had them in a box I built. Everyone Ive ever met asks me if they are 12s, and when I say Rockford they think P2 or higher. In my Escape I had, The two P1s had the windshield wipers hopping. I dont know how they are that loud. I really dont know. It amazes me. Heres a pic of them in the Escape and the box before I finished it. The ring on the one is missing because that sub the cone has a leak where its pealing apart or something. I bought these new and broke them in for 14 hours.

yea i wish someone had a termlab mic or audio control and we could have a meet and mic everyone. termlab is the standard for db measuring in db drag events and countless others. so really if it wasnt measured with termlab or even an audio control it aint sayin nothin.

Was it the spl TS-W5102SPL by pioneer? I installed a TS-W5102SPL and 2-2000 spl pioneer amps in a bonnville one time. Not sure of the db but it probley wasn't to close to a 159.

No UL12 critical mass sub.. 2 2500 watt amps to each coil.... dam thing shut my car down while I was reving it at 2000. Could have gotten more i belive but I was loosing due to body flexing from the panels and the trunk not staying closed.

Ill tell u what, that sub was no joke.. I wish I could have kept it, but I wasnt giving that kind of money for 1 sub.. I didnt belive it my self but, when I took it to the sound off, it read the same thing.

How many batterys did you have running the system? I am assuming an ohio gen alternator? I've heard great things about the Critical Mass subs just never had a chance to dibble dabble with them. You shoulda had people pushing on those panels it will hold that spl in. We are soon going to be installing 1 18" solo X in a cavalier walled off pointing in from the trunk. Currently we are installing 4 15" L7's with a 4000bd fosgate amp. 3 Kinitek batterys, Ohio Gen 200amp alternator and a bunch of other goodies in a 12 cubic foot sealed box in a 71 coupe deville. it's going to be nasty. I'll post pics soon as we get farther along. Today we just layed the hushmatt in the trunk.

159.6 seems high for a single 12". It seems like a nice sub but I don't know about 159.6. Ultra's web site says the world record was set for SPL1... 2 15" Ultras hit 162.9. If it took 2 high performace 15" subs to set a world record, then 1 12" hit only 3db less is a stretch. But I have seen wierder things I guess. I would love to hear that thing run. Do you have pics of the set-up?

No I dont have pics, I was testing it out to see if we were going to use that line. I would love to use it but either its way to much money or some of the speakers were not really up to par.
Ill double check the paper work on the sub when i tested to make sure that the db are correct. Its up there though and for a singal 12 it was very impressive.

Mendoza
I had 2 batteries in the car at the same time, but when it took that draw WOW. it just drained it so bad it shut the car off.

dont get to excited on that 18, I was dissapointed with it.. You really need monster amps to push that thing to get it even to move. Just make sure that its totally sealed from the back. what is the cbft in that trunk anyway?
