I have to agree... I love being in a car with them, but cars look pretty bad from the outside looking in when they are out. Corvette with a one piece removable is a different story though.

I completely disagree, and they will never return thanks to safety regulations, at least from the manufacture. I know someone's going to fab them into a 5th gen soon enough.

I love being in cars with them! I wanted a 84ish Monte Carlo SS with t-tops for a while

Looks better than this:

I just think the T-tops look all skeletony and ish. The one peice hard top looks a lot sexier when removed.

You know, if they made it in '05 or '06, it might be a possibility... but honestly, the 04's aren't going to hold nearly the value as the 05s and 06s will. This is a car I could see myself buying from my dad when I graduate (or maybe convincing him to make it a graduation gift ) and keeping forever. LS1 is a great motor, but you can really feel that extra hp in the LS2 in 3rd when you need it. Besides, from an iconic stand point, people want the hood scoops and "real" dual exit exhaust on their GTO's.

There were a couple tweaks. Besides the LS1 to LS2 difference, the color line up changed a little, and some more creature comforts were added. 18's were also an option. And like Matt said, they made the exhaust exit on both sides of the car- originally, it was real dual exhaust, but emptied on one side of the car (making it look like non-dual exhaust). The 05 and 06 also added hood scoops, like the original GTO.

Couple more things I found:
-2006 was only year for the black tail lights you see
-2006 had better power seat motors
-05 and 06 had better brakes than 2004, and stronger axles
-2006 was only year with lit steering wheel controls

I rode in a GTO, but didn't get to drive it, and to me the ride is a little rougher than I would like. But either way it's a sweet car. I say go for it.

06 Goats also have a door lock button in the center console. 04 and 05 can only be unlocked/locked with the "Killer Key"

Was a bitch at first....but I got used to it. I think I looked for the lock/unlock button for a couple months.
