I read somewhere that if the battery dies in the remote/key you have to replace the whole thing? Like... order a new key and have it cut, etc... know anything about this?

Haha, same when I was driving the '04. I remember picking up a girl and when she got to the door, I was fumbling all around the car looking like a jackass. I finally reached over and popped the lock manually

Ha, you have a point- I am going to dread sitting on I90 if I have the Goat... I think I will try to work form like... 730am or 8am to 330 or 4pm to avoid it as much as possible.

To avoid rush hour you have to be on the highway before 6:30 and 3:30. It gets hairy anytime after that ESP on the way home.

Does it help at all that I am going to Rosemont (out of the city) in the morning, and back into the city at night? Would it be significantly slower if I avoided the highway and took surface streets? I'm basically commuting to O'Hare for work, FWIW.

The EL would be your best bet but if you did drive, I would just brave the traffic on 90. Normally it sucks both ways but a little less the way you'll be goin.

haven't heard that about the key. Although I do know that you can use the key to chop down trees!

Doesn't matter what Road you take. Traffic is always heavy but follow the Hour's Joe gave you for the best time. When Road Construction starts anyway, anytime will be fun.

Oh well... I think I might be living even deeper in the city (LP) so it'll be even more fun getting in/out.

there's a long standing joke in the GTO community about the key. Many refer to it in some manner that sarcastically states its ridiculously large size and that they cannot stand it. Aside from the suspension, the key might be the only terribly designed thing on the car

Best pic ever is a guy on the board who took the original "Jaws" movie poster and photoshopped "the key" in it replacing Jaws.
