Don't know where you guys have been, but the LS2 is long gone and out of production (like for the last 6 months). It is being burned off in the remaining limited availability TBSS's made for '08. The new engine is the LS3, which is currently only used in the Corvette base model now at 430HP. It will be used in the G8 GXP at 402HP.

Word right now is the V8 based Camaro will get the LS3 but at what HP no one knows. And on top of that, with GM suddenly losing their sack because of sales, cost, CAFE standards in the future, etc., the only engine guaranteed is the 3.6L V6 for the base model.

All I said was GM won't comment on what engine its getting, we know its not the LS2.

Hell I bet we won't know anything more about it for a few months.

i knew it was goin away, but i thought it didnt take effect untill late summer or fall or so when the ZR1 comes out. my bad

My speculation is this
Base: 260 ish HP 3.6L V6
Z28: 360ish HP 6.0L V8 from G8 GT
The Base and Z28 will be on sale at launch
SS: 400+ HP LS3 trailing launch by 6-12 months

I would guess that too, but after GMs vaginal attitude within the last week of proclaiming this will not be a "muscle car", who knows what the hell they are going to do!.

I'm selling my Grand Am and buying a GTO !!! I got my doors blown off by an Altima 2. something liter today, a Saturn SL 2 the other day WTF !!! Dont get me wrong the car looks great just slow as all get out
