I thought this thread was about if that particular GP was a good deal, not if the GP is the right car for you.

Just like not letting the car sales snake dictate what is a good deal, YOU have to decide what car you want.

Resale? I wouldn't touch any GM car including the GTO if I was looking for resale, if you honestly think a GTO has "good" resale, then you must have never researched ANY Japanese or European car...

If you are decided on a mid size FWD domestic car, you cannot do any better than a Grand Prix, it's probably the best FWD car GM has made.

a good deal takes all issues into account. The quality of the car and how it will last is exactly what should be figured into whether a car's price is a "good deal" and the right car to buy.

And since you have no clue, like most....GTO resale is actually GOING UP. 2 years from now I bet a clean '06 will still sell for $20k+. With the "oh sh1t" realization by those who want a powerful sports coupe that they may not be made anymore soon, there has been a realization of just what this car has to offer.

Oh I know all about the resale of GTO, but like most, you didn't get the point.

GTO resale is great for a domestic car, but it is not like (as I stated before) the majority of European or Japanese cars (ex... BMW, Lexus). So if one was looking for RESALE VALUE then GTO isn't the best choice.

Comparing a GP FWD sedan to a RWD sport coupe is comparing apples to oranges.. "don't get the Dodge Caravan, get the Corvette it's a better deal"

I never said anything bad about the GTO like some people "it looks like a big Cavalier coupe", just mentioned the reality of it's resale value. That's all.

payments will be less than the GA, im not trading the GA. giving it to my mom and she is doing with that she wants...think she is taking that and her corolla and trading them in.

because my first car was bought at 17 and its in her name?

get info before bashing me kthx

I cant trade in a car that isnt mine. It still has a balance on it and the engine is 5k away from blowing the **** up...

I dont care about "years" of payments..Ide have to do it anyway once the GA was done for...
Isnt that what lifes about? Most people have car payments most there lives.

Im not sure how this is a bad idea?
1. this car is in MY name my credit my stuff
2. Its less a month than my ga
3. its nicer than my ga
4. Good mileage
What did i do wrong? Is 13000 too much??

Your argument about the gp was they dont make them anymore ect..They just started making g6's so u cant use that.....whats the problem?

You are getting at least a G6 GTP right?

I hope so, cause otherwise you are passing up the Audi S4 for a VW Jetta 1.8T, after having owned a Jetta 2.0T <--- anyone else get that?

Sure the G6 GT is a great car, but as far as performance, you just went down a 1/4 notch from the GAGT and 10 notches from potentially owning a GPGT supercharged, not to mention that a GP can easily be modified to be something of a seriously quick sedan without a whole lot of $$.

Check out ClubGP.com and do some reading before you pass on a supercharged Grand Prix GT if you are looking for a FWD GM sedan. You owe it to yourself to do the research. Here:

A G6 GT and a supercharged GP are light years apart. You would be missing out.
