DMH Low Profile Cutouts On An 04

Here it is ladies and gentlemen. I finally got my DMH Low Profile Cutouts installed. I love the sound. Its quiet closed and absolutely roars opened. I have pacesetter headers with catless mids with a stock catback. I posted some pictures (crappy quality sorry) and a video.

Enjoy.

John

Just be careful with the cutout. I don't care what kind of warranty DMH promised, but he's given me nothing but trouble each time my cutout burned out. I got sick of sending him emails and getting no response so I just gave up trying to get it replaced. Cutouts are fun little toys but plan to have it burned out within about 6-8 months, then hounding the guy for a replacement.

Its basically an electronically (in this case) controlled butterfly valve that opens to dump the exhaust before a restriction (in my case the muffler). Its a fun toy, but arguably it's best used for WOT situations (when max flow is most important) as when its open the restrictions go way down as does the scavenging affect.

Really? Huh. Wish I had that kind of ease of repair...

EDIT

I finally got around to playing the vid and at first I was like THAT's a GRAND AM???? But then I saw the exhaust and looked closer at your avatar and it all made sense XD

My quicktime cutout still hasn't burnout yet. Anyway, sounds sweet man! I'll bet it really does sound a lot better in person since the mics on most cameras just can't capture loud stuff like that without a lot of distortion. One question, why'd you get headers and all the other stuff and stick with the stock cat-back?
