I hope this thing gets moving. Mine have been replaced twice. Even if they wait forever I'll still be there to get my ****in' money because I don't ever plan on selling the car.

So this only covers the initial design and not the new metal impregnated gasket? I was told I had the new gasket, but it looks like mine is leaking again...

you can look at what is covered under that site.. I filed my claim a week ago and know I am recieving $400+ back. I believe you can also email them if you have any questions.

Found this website on the whole thing. Has the claims forms and a lot of information on it.

www.dexcoolsettlement.com

My parents at one time owned three vehicles with the 3400 engine in it. Two of them had the LIM replaced including mine when it was still under my dad's name. I also had the water pump replaced due to leaks around the same time. I have to check to see if the date I got it fixed and the original manufacture date on my car is less than 7 years. I have a 99 I think may have been produced in late 98 and I had the very expensive service done in the summer of 06. I may be SOL...

Looks like I have 2 repairs that fall under this. Hopefully I can squeeze a couple dollars out of GM.

Not yet. I read it was about $800 return per repair for candians and b/w $300-400for americans.

There was a link for you guys where you were supposed to register and forward all documents related to the repair to be put on the list. I will have to see if I can find it.

CUSTOMGAGT2000SEDAN Still kinda new, but learning
well i guess i am out . i have a 2000 / 3.4 with only 77,000 klms , that's 47-48,000 miles.

with out looking threw ALL my many reciepts , i believe i had a lower intake gasket done , under warranty , zero deductible any where between 33,000 klms and 60,000 klms . i know gm billing records i believe it said ( 2 ) > 4-litre bottles , thus when mixed makes 4-litres .

it would have been done after 2002 , maybe 2003 year . they of course they used GM dex-cool, BUT WOULD THE GASKET HAVE BEEN IMPROVED QUALITY ??

here's a question they had after 60,000 klms still under warranty , replaced many of my a/c components like heater core , compressor , evaporator . with out looking can't remember what esle was replace , whole dash was out. WOULD THEY HAVE REPLACED ( some or ALL of my coolont ) in that operation.

next question i not sure i have heard an answer for >> does this mean if i buy prestone gm dex-cool coolant is that still a NO NO . plus i mixed it with the proper type of water > soft water/ indionized water . does this have the same worries.

here's one for you , don 't know what you guys know about 2004 to 2008 GRAND PRIX's , but i got a 2007 GP with 31,500 klms ( still under factory warranty plus extended ), base 3.8 NA engine . at end of first month oil dip stick was down about quarter , thus i put in about haft bottle. not sure what the klms were then. but now 2 months more at 41,000 klms dip stick was down by haft, thus added full bottle.

i check other fluilds and notice in the reserve tank coolant was haft way between bottom of tank and the cold mark. At a quick look there is no smell of coolant or oil , no leaks anywhere that i can see . nothing on the ground . is this normall oil useage and cooolant useage. for all city drive 10,000 klms after buying from gm.
