Front Bumper... FUBARRED by FUKING SNOW/ICE

so i was driving down the freeway this morning (I-94 W) on my way to work, and i am in the fast lane doing about 50-55 mph getting ready to overtake an 18-wheeler, well as i am passing by him on his left side, a big @$$ chunk of snow/ice/slush AKA. bull$hit, fell off of his driversside fenderwall and right out into the middle of my lane with no way to avoid it, so i jumped on the gas hoping to pop the front end up a bit, well it didn't fuking matter shattered the lower cross-member of the front bumper, i am ****ed, therefore the sc/t body kit plans will have to wait until later when i can get it all fixed and pretty again

Did you get the name of the company? Or possibly a number off the truck? I don't know how liable there are for stuff like that, but it can't hurt to look into it.

You'll still have to pay a deductable, which depending on how high that is, may or may not be worth it.

Natural weather crap like that sucks. Black ice almost owned a Galant in front of me on the highway today, which in turn would've owned me.

Damage is probably less than your deductible...I wouldn't even tell your insurance company cuz then your rates will prob go up like mine...claim or no claim

Sorry to hear Andy....

BUMPER DAMAGES

Yea, those front and rear bumpers are expensive. I had to pay $752 for a rear bumper but I went through a expensive GM dealership bodyshop but it was nice because I have a $50 decutible so my insurance payed $702 and I only paid $50.

Yeah, the only thing my insurance requires is they have to see pics of the damage but my car is galaxy silver if you had an silver car it would probably work.

Yeah, I have to visit the bodyshop again on Friday but its coming out of my pocket. I bought an expensive sct hood and now I have to pay the body shop $448 out of my pocket.

Man, I hate those frozen road apples.

Sorry you got one from a truck.

Going after the trucking company would be fruitless, The driver has no control over what snow/ice crap drops off his vehicle in the course of driving. Now, if he loses something that belongs on the truck, say a mudflap or a body or chassis part, or something....then you got him.

PAINTING COST

I have to pay them $448 to my hood painted and installed thats the cost. I called the another gm dealership they wanted to charge me $800 because they wanted to paint my fender walls too. I should of ordering it with my car I had the choice thrown right at me when I was ordering my car but I didn't care about financing an extra $1,000 for the SCT package now the paint cost is killing me

Painting Costs

Darn it I wish I knew I could of got a better deal on my painting. I'm screwed right now with the bill because I have to pick it up on Friday they have been painting it the last two weeks for me. All I can say is when I pick it up on Friday it better be the best paint job their is for spending big bucks like that on it.

no doubt, check everything and watch it for a week for paint bubbles and what not and do not (very serious) do not wax it for at least 1 month cuz otherwise the paint will soak it up and then you need to have it painted again...

Wow...when I did the AAS kit on my car with the SD hood, it cost me $500 to get the front, rear, sides, and hood painted altogether. The paint matched perfectlt to the car too without any blending of the fenders. I did all the prep work myself though, so that is why it was alot cheaper
