Dash Kit Groupbuy

can a mod make this sticky?
After discovering an auction on ebay, a few of us decided to get a group buy together on getting dash pieces re-done in new material (CF, brushed aluminum, etc.). If you want anything done, post here, if not, dont post.

The details are being hammered out right now, but well be going through http://www.ultra-graphics.net/. They use a process called Water Transfer Printing, which some of us saw at GAP03. Instead of using an overlay, the carbon fiber (or whatever) is printed onto the material.

The cost depends on how many pieces you send in, but it gets cheaper the more pieces you have done.
This is an example from steve at ultra-graphics:
"if you did the dash piece that goes around your steering column and radio the price would be $95.00. If you did the 4 pieces on the door panels (switch pates and handle pulls) the cost would be $120.00. The cost goes down for the more pieces you do at one time."

Remember, post up only if you want in on this. I wanna keep this thread clean. Hopefully we can get a good discounted price.

1. Center console (trim around the stereo)
2. Gauges Cluster Ring
3. All 4 door trims
4. 6 vents
5. Ring around hazard button
=13 parts

Is there some kind of way to make this thread stand out to others? I fear that it's gonna get missed when people check this sub forum. Most see the "Important" notices up top but simply ignore them because they think it's old. At least that's my theory. :/

what they told me is that the more pieces you send you get a lower price for each piece. im not quite sure how a group buy would work on this. it might work if you dont have that many pieces to send and you send them with someone elses pieces.

That looks pretty sweet. First time I've seen this. Anyone notice the sellers name on Ebay was scubasteve? I've got the same question as Kyle, can they do this over painted peices or do they need to be fresh? I'd be interested in getting the center console, the gauge cluster ring, and the switch plates and handle rings on the doors done. CF of course.

at $35 each im in for 6-7 pieces if it gets cheaper ill still do more does any one know how to take the lower center console out? the black piece from the little cubby hole thing to the cd holder thing?

i emagine that all he is doing is consitering us as 1 customer as far as pricing goes so the more pieces we throw up the cheaper it gets.

not sure what color i want quite yet though

We are going to need more people than this to get a decent price.......Once we see the final product from the e-bay auction we will send him a link to this thread and add up all the parts we have listed and see what he says for a price....I'm personally not looking to spend $300 on this stuff.......so we need more people to get the price down!

If your interested in a good price tell your other car buddies too......This group buy doesn't have to be just Grand Am pieces......all people from other boards are welcome to get down with this.

Hmmm, well there are some members on gaownersclub who don't visit here. Maybe they would be interested? It would be hard to get other people from other boards to get in on this. Hmmm.
