Unhappy Had a wreck today

Well, I rearended a truck about 2 hours ago. I feel like such a dumba$$. Not only did I hit somebody, but I hit them while they were stopped at a red light. When I hit the brakes the car felt like it didn't want to stop, pedal went all the way to the floor and felt really soft.

PS headlight is completely destroyed, bumper scratched, fender bent and hood is bent. Only a $500 dollar deductible though.

I'm going to try to get a SC/T hood instead of OEM. How much more would I have to pay for it?

Going to take pics in a few minutes.

sorry to hear that dude. Hopefully you'll get the sc/t hood out of the deal, and it looks like you figured out how to clear the amber from the headlights too! See, there is a positive side to everything somehow.

I was thinking the same thing
When I got out to look at the light, I was thinking "wow no amber reflector"

Damn that headlight took a beating!! Only weird to me cuz I noticed when other GAs wrecked, their headlights usually held up pretty well.. but I guess it's cuz u went under the rear of the truck..

At least noone got hurt.. but kinda sucks to hit something that's not moving. Was it determined if there's something wrong with ur brakes?

I haven't had anymore problems with the brakes. The cop made me make sure they were working before I left. I don't know why they did that. Going to the garage in the morning for estimate and to let them check things out.

Just got back from the bodyshop and the total comes to $2353.32 for repair. Not going to be able to get the SC/T hood can't afford it right now. But I am going to get my mirrors painted to match and get debadged.

Are you getting a new passenger side fender? According to the picture, it is repairable and you'd be saving a couple hundred by fixing it instead. I got hit by an 18 wheeler over the summer and my fender was easily fixed.

Looks like the front bumper came out pretty much dentless. There looks like a small scratch in it, but thats fixable. Are they trying to tell you that you need a new bumper too?

They are replacing the fender, but they are just going to repair the bumper. I only have to pay $500 (still alot but not $2300) so I am going to let them do what they think they need to.

If your going too fast and you slammed your brakes on and it also looks like you turned to the left slightly it does feel like there is nothing there. Thats anti lock coming into play. With out that you would have been skidding str8 or spinning around. Ive had that happen to me a few times. Turning and braking extreme hard in our cars doesnt work to well with our stock brakes.

My Dad just called and told me he would pay the difference between the stock hood and the SC/T. So I am going to get the SC/T hood. Going to order it off of PFYC tonight.
