on hold with them to see if they will fix...

they asked if the vehicle was registered to me and my address is correct, then told me to wait for a notice *sigh*...

i'd really enjoy having blinkers that worked

they cant do that. You dont need a notice. They must be busy at the shop so they're trying to prevent you from adding to it as long as possible. Once a Recall is issued, a dealer must honor it. There is no "wait for your notice" BS. Call another dealer. This is a safety recall. Ide make a complaint or ask to talk to the manager. If your turn signals worked ide say hold off, but since they dont, i would definately make a complaint.

Hey Bro, i just called GM and the dealer has to repair the car with or without the notice. I would call a different dealer just so you dont have to deal with a prick dealership.

i got this notice too....print it and go jam it down someones throat if they dont do what they're supposed to...have the manager call gm right infront of you and ask if you have to wait for a notice...sounds like good ol' normal BULLSH!T from our dealerships as usual... dealerships think they;re god or something, and will act snobby if you let them...when they pull that you gotta start yelling...doesnt happen TOO often to me anymore, but now that my warranty is done im sure they'll be finding all kinds of god awful problems with my car...

they're crooks, but what can you do...i say take it in and make then fix it if its causing you problems...if they still bitch, let me know and i'll scan my letter and email it to you...

2000-2001 Grand Ams

Solder joints in the hazard warning flasher switch may crack. If happens, the audible flasher indicator, visual flasher indicator, turn signals, and hazard flasher may work intermittently or not at all. Dealers will replace the switch. Should take about 30 minutes plus check-in time.

Certain Grand Ams/ Dealer to confirm eligibility.

2000 YC535849 (2/2/00) to YC568892
2000 YM792549 (2/3/00) to YM886948

2001 1C100008 to 1C250906
2001 1M500001 to 1M648029

The recall letter will include any instructions for reimbursement for previous repairs.

For those who are not involved in the recall, the switches are only around $30 and take a half hour or less to install. Get your cars fixed, keep the recipts, and if you feel the need complete a report at http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov
