3" downpipe, wanted it to be 1 piece but wasn't happening

Girlfriend painting all the exhaust parts with some POR-20 heat paint

Some heat management

Quick clean to make sure no debris was inside

Notch for oil return

Screamer pipe

How long until you take it to the track and give it the kind of engine-bashing good time we're all wanting to see?

Well done. I worry about that intake pipe restricting flow. I wonder if you had a clean/mandrel bent pipe if it would benefit you with more power

Probably won't make any difference. Sloppymechanics did a before and after dyno with two different charge pipes.

Haha thanks guys, don't think I'll make the track this year but never know! Needs to be tuned before I can really get on it

As for the pie cut charge pipe, I don't think it will make much of a difference but I tried a piece of mendral bent pipe and it was too close to the turbo IMO. I only used 10-15 degree cuts so the inside still flows rather nicely I think but outside looks like poop my welds got a lot better towards the end of this project but ohwell

What sleepy said except it took like a week for the cops to find, called me and said bring your keys it looks like it's in good shape still....

Pool of oil under the truck and nothing can go in the ignition cause of a broken piece of metal in the ignition, managed to fire it up and move it so the flat bed could grab it easy but damn it sounded rough haha

Throw a used motor in that Blazer. Those trucks aren't worth sinking much money in, but they are solid, capable, reasonably well built and were pretty much the last of cheap/easy to buy and repair low-tech compact 4-bys.

The 4.3 long block will interchange several years beyond the end of S/T chassis production, so finding a low-ish mileage unit in the self service wrecking yard should still be possible. Find a promising candidate in the yard, pull the pan and bearing caps off. As long as the crank journals are standard and undamaged, drag it home, reseal it, maybe throw a new oil pump and bearings in it. A 4.3 almost always dies of a rod problem, so as long as the bottom end is clean and tight the odds are pretty good it will give acceptable service life.

This thing is pretty quick, would really like to see how it goes with traction and a straight line! I don't see why it shouldn't do 12's this year if it hooks! I'm really starting to think of a 5spd for the Alero now too! Lol
