Question

My speed 1 & 2 stopped working, does this affect the air conditioner on speeds 3-5? or will the air conditioning still work on these speeds?

Everything still works on 3-5. It's a cheap fix. Not more then $20 part.

$20 part, tedious to replace.

You need a lot of patience and tiny hands to keep from losing the bolts. Then of course the fun of inserting the new resistor without damaging it.

Just recharged the A/C, works great now, temp shows about 45 degrees, I would change the resistor but the problem is my fingers are the size of sausages and I dont mean the tiny links either, so that project will test my patience for sure, I am just happy to have the A/C back, the resistor is a project far maybe in the future.
Thanks for advice, I didnt want to recharge the A/C if it wasnt gonna work without the 1st the fan speeds not working.

Just drop the panel under your glovebox, the resistor is behind the blower motor.

Does anybody know if a bad Resistor could cause none of the fan speeds to work. I replaced the resistor before about 5 months ago and it worked just fine and now its out again. So Im wondering is it just the resistor or could there be and underlying problem?? its sucks not having A/C!

It can't be the resistor board since the high fan speed full battery power wire does not go through it. Check the blower motor fuse, blower motor relay, relay ground, and motor ground. You should also check the switch with a volt or ohm meter. If all that is ok it is a bad motor. You can check to see if the motor is getting power so you can see if the motor is bad before you check anything else.

Cheap parts can also be the problem. I replaced mine back in January, still works fine. Either that, or you have a short. But it would be a lot quicker to burn out. I'm opting on it being a crappy part.

My blower motor cuts out anytime i switch it to level 4 or 5. Then it won't work for awhile and i'll just be messing around with it for awhile and it'll kick back on within a few days. Recently it stopped working all together i'm unsure if my mechanic was checking it out (since i told him about it) or the problem is worse to where it doesn't work at all.. i know though it doesn't like heat, i think the motor is bad but maybe other reasons? Sounds like a pain to fix though, maybe hitting it would kick it back on?
