HOW-TO Install Corvette brakes on a 99+ GA

theres pictures of the stockers on in there. they cut it close. its your call.

if you read the HOW-TO a couple pages from the back, they say that the corvette calipers have cooling fins on them that hinder the clearence of the stock rims, but if you get the camaro calipers, (just like the grand am calipers except larger and dual piston) the fins don't go all the way to the edge and don't get in the way of the chrometech on our 5-spoke rims.

TFA - This austion is only for the calipers and brackets that they mount to. You will need to purchase rotors, pads and probably brake lines separately. And I wouldn't trust used brake lines as you don't know where they've been and how they've been treated.

Again, I'm not the one selling them, just found it. I ordered a pair, I can do a test fit for all you guys if you like.

I got the calipers today, they package them well. They're huge compared to the stock GA calipers. Can't wait to put them on.

Anyway they come with the camaro brake lines and look like the grand am line will work just fine. they attach the same way, banjo bolt.

they come with all the necessery bolts too. I'll test fit them tomorrow and takes pics for everyone.

I tried the calipers last night, they fit great, I have the 5 spoke stock chrometech wheels. as mentioned in the HOW-TO, it's a close fit , it has about 2mm clearence between the caliper and the chrometech part of the wheel, but there is more clearence between the actual wheel and the caliper itself.

I know know about the rears. do the camaro calipers fit on the rear? what size rotor? I don't think that was ever done. it was discussed a little in the HOW-TO thread, but they didn't get very far.

the ebay camaro calipers and the camaro caliper brackets that they came with, perfect, (close) but it works great. (NOTE** i just bolted the caliper and bracket on for wheel fit, that's the stock, notice how small, rotor.

It goes on with all the stock stuff. You re-use all the stock bolts and brake line

The camaro rotors would be really difficult to fit in the rear, the C5 rotors a little easier. They're the same size, just a different depth hat. I'm working on getting that one to work, but unfortunately the caliper mount isn't the common size in the rear like it is in the front. I have a TON of brake parts sitting on the shelf to research this one, a full set of C5 rotors and brackets, Camaro rear rotors, Camaro brackets, parking brake assemblies, etc...

YES, the anti-rattle clips are included with these calipers.
