Tail Light Turn Signals: Red vs. Amber

Ok, so I got these tail lights with the clear lenses. The inner housing is the back up lights, the main middle housing is the brake lights, and the outer housings are the turn signals. Now, the question is, should I put in red or amber bulbs in for the turn signal? I'm interested to hear your guys's opinions on this.

Red, if you can match the bulbs.

Id stick with red. I think it looks better/cleaner and still gets the job done.

I'm personally fond of amber for some reason. Have no idea why but I like amber over red turn signals.

I think amber would add more character to the back end. But go with the clear bulb so you don't see the orange

I've seen them on eBay. Search "grand am black clear tail". I've considered getting these...

I've always wanted Amber. More visibility for sure from further away.

I like amber myself. I've got the LED tails, so the parking light/brake light part is LED's, but the back up and turn signal lights use regular light bulbs and I used amber for my turn signals/hazards. Looks pretty sweet IMO.

The lack of a red reflector in them is likely to get the cops attention. A quick check of Indiana laws shows this:

Quote:
IC 9-19-6-5
New vehicles; rear reflectors
Sec. 5. (a) Except as provided in subsections (b) through (d), a new motor vehicle sold and operated upon a highway, other than a truck-tractor, must carry on the rear, either as a part of the tail lamps or separately, two (2) red reflectors.
http://www.in.gov/legislative/ic/cod.../ar19/ch6.html

I'm not saying don't do it, but I would certainly keep your stock tails on hand since you might have to replace them. I went with tinted GT tails myself and got ticketed once while in Germany but here in California nobody has given me any grief over them. I still have my stock GT tails just in case though.

I have those same black clear tail lights too! I love'em! They really look good on the silver Grand AM GT. I bought mine on ebay for 126.00 w/free shipping. I had to order Led brake and turn signal bulbs. I also had to purchase loaders to prevent hyper-flash. I have yellow LED turn signal bulbs and red LED brake tail light bulbs. I watched a youtube video on how to install the loaders.

I use the amber on mine as it stands out from all the stock GA's with the red signals.
