04 GP motor in to a 01 GP????

Anyone know if a 04 3800 Grand Prix motor will work in a 01 Grand Prix? I know Id have to swap some stuff over but wanted to see if everything will bolt up fine. Thanks

i don't see why not. there might be some sensor changes like the connector changed. i went through that when i put an 05 3400 in my 99. couple of the sensor connectors were different.

But as far an bolting it up it should be fine? I figured I’d have to swap the oil pump and pan and a bunch of other things but didnt know if it would bolt in

only thing i found was physically it will fit but the electronics are different.

Ok but if I put everything off my old motor it should be fine other than maybe a few connectors?
