1997 Grand Am GT 4 Door vs 2 Door

Hey everyone,

I am swapping out my tranny on 1997 Grand Am GT 2 door (I found a donor car but it is apparently a 4 door) - do you know if this will work in the 2 door? are there any weird differences that I should be aware of?

Thanks,

Thanks for letting me know.

On a separate note, any idea what is involved in disconnecting the shifter from the transmission? Does it just pop off?

What if it were coming off of a 1996? Apparently they had the same Tranny / Engine so it sounds like it should be okay, but just want to confirm (as i got the info. off of Wikipedia)
