Service of a Pontiac Grand AM Stereo
Hello
I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand AM GT 4 Door Sedan with a Stereo/CD Radio. The screen back lights have gone dark. ALL radio functions work, you just can`t see anything on the display. I know the radio has a pair of light bulbs to back light the display but when I started to pull the radio out I noticed it has torque like screws, two sizes. Of course I don`t have any that fit. Anyone know what size they used on the GM radios` case? Fixing the radio, not an issue, opening that ___ is a pain. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks George |

Has no one had to replace the bulbs in their GM radio for the display screen?

Yeah, I've never had to take apart my GM radio. I replaced the one in my car long before anything burnt out. If the screws look like torx screws, I'd just go buy some torx drivers. You can usually get a kit with an assortment of sizes pretty cheap.
