RPO Code Lookup

Hi all. I have been working on a small project the last couple days due to recurring conversations on options identification as it relates to the different years, etc.

http://groomlakelabs.com/testing/rpo_lookup.php

Feel free to beat on it a bit, perhaps give suggestions. Hopefully it may provide to be a decent utility for identifying what your car has in it to assist in doing swaps with other years, etc. On the N-Body (99+) cars (as far as I am aware), all of the RPO codes are on a label under the spare tire cover.

This is similar to: http://www.s-series.org/rpo/

However, it appears they have not updated the RPO codes in a while. Currently, my database has about 4225 records, and it is still growing. I am tweaking some of the logic to help categorize the various options families. If you can't find a particular RPO code, PM me, and I will track it down...

Made a few changes. The database now has every possible RPO ID (easy to generate since GM uses base36). If I don't have a Description for the RPO at the moment, the record for that particular RPO is "NO DESCRIPTION AVAILABLE". Even if that is the case, it should still fall in one of GM's RPO categories. If not, I have a default category of "NOT CATAGORIZED". I may even add a year field since GM seems to have reused RPO's over time. At some point, I will add in functionality to allow users to update, and then give an option to users to look through the user submitted data as well.

Weeee... I found something really cool buried in my desk. My dad gave it to me and I forgot about it...

Little white book titled "GM production options: passenger car, light and medium truck".

It's from service parts operations General motors corp. engineering dept., dated march 2001. Let me know if there's anything you need me to check. I looked up the final drive ratios and the 3.29 is rpo FR9 and 3.05 is F83, just in case you still needed those.

If anyone wants to know what their final drive is, it's the second number from the left in the second row down on the tag on the bottom of the spare tire cover.

I dunno but I am trying to still research the amount of GA's with the different options, If anyone of you knows a way to look into the GM database and find the production numbers that would be awesome.
