SC/T working hood scoops?

So I am a bit curious, has anyone ever rigged up the hood scoops on the SC/T body kit so that they actually function and air come in through them for the intake? or is this just a crazy idea i thought up of randomly?

I've said it time and time again. Nothing beats a CAI. The only function of the ram air slots being opened, it forcing cool air into the engine bay.

Wrong, it does just as much for performance to cool off the UIM, faster hot-soak recovery.

Uh, yea it's been done. There is some form of a kit iirc, it used the driver's side opening and a new lid for the factory air box...

I'll try and find it and give you a link. Maybe I was severely stoned one day and dreamt about it, but I'm pretty sure I read it, as i don't smoke. anything. for real, really don't, and I know you all don't believe me

I don't ever remember seeing a kit, but that doesn't mean it's not out there. There is one company that makes a functional aftermarket hood. The replica looks goofy to me though, the eclipse are to big.

You can buy an S/D hood that is functional, and looks good still.

I was considering a CAI, but everyone gives me **** about the scoops being "Fake ass.." so if possible, id like to shut them up. otherwise ill just go with a CAI.

But I think he means making it a functional ram air hood. The S/D hood vents air, not ram air into the airbox for a ram air intake effect.

I have seen this somewhere, hopefully someone else has it saved, or at least has a better memory than me. But I know I've seen it on here somewhere.. or the GAOC again, like last time I got old and confused

I believe its the SC/T and SD hoods from PFYC they have a type of duct built in to the underside of the hoods that direct the air from the scoops towards the air box.....so in a sense if you had a WAI or cut a whole in your stock box lid the air from the hood scoops would be directed and forced to the filter

I never said there was no benefit from the cold air going into the engine bay. But the "ram air" is useless.

Okay, also, on topic, ish....

If you're that interested in packing air in, the cold air intake will run over behind/underneath the driver's side headlight. When you drive, air will go in the front of the car, in that big opening...it also will fill up the area where the air filter is residing, as it isn't just sitting there in a vacuum.

So, really, honestly, the CAI isn't all that different from a ram air type setup on these cars. I went a step further and took out my driving lights to "line up" a hole with the filter.. kinda, not really, but air goes in the driving light hole on the driver's side, to the plastic deflector (that is the inner fender well from the tire side) and then has nowhere to go, besides into the filter hanging there.

I couldn't tell you any sort of difference honestly, it sounds mean but I've never dyno'd the car, and haven't done any perfomance mods to it, I just wanted the CAI everyone was talking about

See, no lights, just air holes

Bleh, I still think the WS6 hood looks hideous on the GA. Keep it on the TA foo.
