So long Saab

Going the way of Pontiac.

GM is a clusterfock....they have no idea what the hell they are doing, where they are going. They are just all over the place. Not to mention every sales deal they had set up fell through, how is this possible? Divy up what you want, write up the papers, and be done with it!! No, they focked around with whatever issues and lost each sale.

So glad I am paying for this circus.......

it's not as simple as just "selling" something as you would a car or house... there is a lot more to it than what the news chooses to report.

BS. They are well aware of what their stake is in the company (assets vs. liabilites). They know how much they have to sell for. To say you can't sit down in one week and figure this sh1t out with the resources they have at their disposal is focking ludicrous.

Although I may agree with you regarding the media statement, but as far as GM and their missmanaged practices and buisness ethics go, I cant vouch for them. Basically everything they touch goes to sh1t and WE really don't need the media to provide us with that statement...

I think all of us that have posted in this thread so far have understood this but seeing corporate sales/acquisitions in the case of a failing brand such as Saab that really does not have the same ties such as Pontiac, et al. it's a rather careless thing to let a deal fall through without recouping at least SOME of the money lost. Whereas letting Pontiac die is one thing, as I see GM's side that there's a "legacy" and certain expectation of the brand that maybe no one else could live up to, other than owning a controlling share of Saab they really have 0 influence on the customers so who cares what the terms are. With the way GM is going they need to get themselves back in the black no matter what it takes.

Since this was a sale to a company in Sweeden the Euorpean Union gets involved and can become a lengthy process for sales and mergers over there. "Spyker said the sale was too complicated to complete quickly." It is very likely that there was no way to get this done by GMs timeline and just easier to give up.

Also very likely...it's just bad management in general. Beggars can't be choosers and that's exactly what GM is right now.

Now I own vehicles of 3 companies that GM is killing or has killed. I have an Alero, a GAGT, and an 03 Saab 9-3. I saw it coming but it sucks. Hopefully it will drive the price of the newer ones down. I would love to replace the alero with an 07-09 9-3 Arc.

keep your eyes peeled, there might be some "late 09's" or "used 2010's" coming through the pipeline...
