Borla Vs Pacesetter
Ok now I have seen different posts and videos and pics of the 2 different exhaust. But I want to know what people think. I only want the best all around, so performance is a must too.
Just drop your opinion so I can figure out what to spend my money on. |

Custombuilt has a lot of advantages. All you need are two 90s and 2 45s to pipe to your muff and 2 more 90s for your tails. I think i spent around 150 in materials not counting the muff and welded it up myself.

Do you think there would be any advantage to making it a true dual exhaust?

I was just reading up on that, the loss of performance because of the lack of back pressure. So back to the original topic then.

Find a SLP exhaust system for sell. Pacesetter is good for the money it's worth. I paid $150 used for mine and I love the sound. Borla is good but very big $$$

Pacesetter is crap. Borla is the best of what you can get off the shelf. Best over all performance would be a custom setup, but the design of it would depend on the rest of your engine mods and what size piping you needed.

I have a set of bends and an over the axle piece and a flowmaster 80 series for sale. All you would need to complete it is a set of tips and some straight lengths of pipe.

Borla definitely. Yes its pricey but thats most likely because its Borla, popular brand name for exhaust systems. You can see HOYS vid on youtube somewhere with his Borla but its with his LX9 swap so it might sound a little different from the stock LA1.
This video is the main reason I love the sound and rumble of the Borla with the stock 3400: I never liked when people do sound clips inside of a garage, of course its going to be louder but I would want to hear what it sounds like in the real world! |
