Progress of re-building sub/trunk set up
My old setup....got this back in mid 05 and have been running it until 5-20-12 when I pulled it and sold it all
2 12inch Kicker CVRs, in a Kicker ported box that I got from Circuit City, 1501D Thunder MTX amp, and 4 gauge Tsunami wire kit with a 1.2 Farad Power Cap.....not too pretty but it got the job done And in with the new.....Well kinda....just got this setup, but without subs, amps, caps. I will be running 2 12inch Alpine Type R with prob a Alpine 2000 Watt amp, so gotta remake the rear piece from dual amp to single. then the power caps will be removed. also on the front of the box I will be wrapping my rear deck and outta part of box face with grey vinyl. then wrapping the inner part around the subs with forest green vinyl....to kinda match how my seats are two-toned. also currently the box is painted white inside I will be re-painting that to a diff color, maybe a shade of green?? previous pics from Lukel and Cobrajeff92 whom the box I believe was Lukes, then he sold it to Jeff, then I aqquired it ![]() shortly after I recieved it in the mail from NY....... Well got the new box/trunk setup installed......well kinda.... i just placed it all in my trunk until I can rebuild and rewrap what needs to be done

and today started to re-build the box out of new wood
box is: 34 3/4" wide 9 1/4" deep on top 12" deep on bottom 13" high on back 13 1/4" high on front all constructed from 5/8" MDF with the rear plexi piece being 3/4" thick and a 2nd 3/4" piece of MDF on the face making the mounting surface for the subs 1 1/2" thick "airspace is roughly around 2.4 ft^3. which would equal roughly 1.2 ft^3 per sub" quoted by amstutz60

cool custom build, very clean.
as far as the green goes i'm surprised you didnt end up with these ![]() just kidding fusion is junk. a row of green led's behind the plexy would look really cool. i suppose you could paint the woofers green, but i wouldnt recomend it. it seems like that might be a green paint mess

Well, okay, and see-thru box, I just meant if you didn't put any green in it, it wouldn't match the car, or actually you shouldn't even put it in if it's not green
![]() I'm confused man, it's the old in me coming out ![]()

I don't remember what we used to regulate it, but back in the day we took those red strips that autozone had, the ones that looked like generic Knight Rider lights, and wired them up to my subs in my truck, they danced around and it was cool, but they were the small Christmas sized bulbs, and I think we used a small capacitor on them to keep the amp from blowing them, and to try to regulate their draw so we didn't hurt the amp.. little ext. cab S10, lights finally started blowing out about 2 and a half years later. That was kinda cool. And you're welcome for the bedtime story

they danced, the power interrupting the sequence made them blink all over crazy like.
of course, that was the 90s, back when you were rockin' a bigwheel ![]()

got the new box and the old pieces all test fit. gotta raise the box a tad more to get it centered in the front opening...currently I have 2x4 on the bottom might have to add some 1/4" or 3/16" plywood to get the height I need
also not sure if I wanna re-make the side pieces but solid, or just get rid of them....as I won't be using power caps.... kinda looks good with no side pieces....hmmm.... then re-made the rear piece as the old one was broken near the right hinge

I would say you can go without the side pieces. It looks clean enough and you don't need a capacitor anyways. If you get a bigger battery, then I would make a nice piece to hide it in the trunk.
