What will be your next vehicle?

Just out of curiosity and for pure enjoyment, what will be your next vehicle after your Grand Am? I know a lot of you have multiple vehicles, but I'd like to see what most GA owners get after their N-Bodies.

I'll start it off.

I love my GA and I've driven it for eight years (I know, seems odd, but it's true). I'm going to be having some little ones in the next few years, so I need more space, more safety features, more utility, and certainly a vehicle that does better in the snow. I'll most likely be going to a truck next. My first choice is certainly a Toyota Tundra 5.7 liter Limited. If I can find a used one in my price range in a year or so, that's what I'll be getting. I love the features, the looks, and most importantly the POWER. I don't drive enough for the crappy gas mileage to matter much. My second choice would be a double cab Tacoma. Nearly half the horsepower, but still a great ride and nice features.

I've also toyed with the idea of getting a car and a beater truck for hauling. I've done this in the past, but my insurance rates were REALLY high. If I had to get a car, I would get an '07 Acura TL (new ones are waaaay too expensive), an '07 Subaru Legacy GT (turbo all-wheel drive makes me melt), or I'd wait a little longer for a used '09 Nissan Maxima (beautiful car with nearly 300 horses).

How about you????

I'll keep it simple, something I can afford, something that is decently reliable, and something that gets good mileage.

That's all I'll care about.

I figured there was, but I couldn't find it. I searched for a while, but I thought I'd bring the topic back from the dead since it's been a few years since I've seen a thread like it. Plus, there have been so many new vehicles and models come out in the past few years (i.e. G6 GXP, G8, Maxima, and all the pickup brands just to name a few) that I thought it'd be interesting to see what people are thinking.

I'll probably keep this truck for a while, as Id like to get out of the house in the next year or two. My next vehicle purchase would be a second car, likely a 96ish camaro. It would be a street/strip vehicle. Old enough to be emissions exempt here in IL, and new enough that I wouldnt need to worry about spending a fortune to make it look pretty.

I just got a grand am I am not looking too much beyond that right now, though I have a honda civic for the mileage, over 40, I have a 4x4 single cab truck, terrible mileage less then 15, I would like a ext cab or crew cab 4x4 for the ease of the kids and wife. but something with better mileage then my current one.

That was a big problem for me. It took me a while to accept that if I wanted a big truck with a big V8 and big horsepower, I surely wasn't going to get big gas mileage. I had thought going diesel because my buddy gets about 25 mpg on the highway in his '05 Dodge diesel. Then again, there's the cost of the truck itself, regular maintenance, and fuel - all of which are more costly than a gas truck. The person who develops a 400 hp king cab 4x4 pickup truck that can tow 15,000 lbs. and gets 35 mpg will be a VERY rich individual.

haha! My wife said something about getting a Prius. It hurt my manhood just hearing it.

My boss has a 335i twin turbo inline-6. It's beautiful and a freakin' rocket.

This summer I plan on replacing the GA with a 1500 silverado or something equivalent. If I make anywhere near the average starting salary for my major after graduation, I'll be looking into a used lotus elise or m3.

Currently looking at a Ford Ranger, the GA has too many problems.

In that case think of a better career field in the military then the marines it takes forever to move up if the space is unavailable.

Heavily dependent on the job I get, both travel and salary-wise.

If I have to commute far, a used Grand Prix, Aura, or some other bullet proof DD with decent mileage in the 2006+ range. If I have a short commute, H3. If I have no commute (am on the road all the time or live in a no-car-needed city), no car

Keep the GTO garaged at parents, keep the miles off it-- probably won't be in MI anyways.

Couple years down the road, R6 in addition to whatever I have. Or if I don't need a car, R6 for pleasure off the bat.

Very contingent on the job, and right now the potentials are so diverse its impossible to say.

What's your major?? I have two degrees and I'm not making anywhere near what they said I was going to. Might have something to do with the economy right now, but it sucks. Best of luck to you though.
