eckoxl hey everyone, I'm a newb!
just to give everyone an update, the car has been back together for about 2 weeks.

put the coilovers on last week.

its running fine and handles great. only thing left to do it put the sway bars on and install the solid rear laterals. and a nice detail, wash, wax, buff... the whole nine yards.

Damn man. Great looking car. I live right next to Aurora. I will honk and give you the thumbs up if I ever see you. I have a lightly modded black GT coupe that I just did a head gasket change on. Its always cool to see other people taking care of their GA's.

Okay, permit me one stupid question: What's the benefit of coilovers versus struts?

Looks great. I wish I had the time/money to go as far as you have with modding the GAGT.

It's like this:

Road feel
Handling
Adjustable height, damper and camber (dunno about these, though)
Clearance for very aggressive wheel fitment

the benefit is i can take turns at 40mph with no problem. the car drives like a go cart its awesome. and yeah they are adjustable, i had it set on the lowest and my front lip was less than an inch off the ground and i couldnt get my jack from under the car. .

No they aren't. Unless the veins on the inside are curved for more airflow, which they appear to just be straight veins, you can install them however you would like.

Hm, I thought the slots were supposed to face the other way.

Learn something new I guess.

Well, you can't just install them however you would like... but which way they face depends on the manufacturers design.

If they have directional cooling vanes then yes they have to face a specific way. Most brake disc manufacturers make the slots or holes on the disc face angle back from the direction of forward rotation, to match the angle of the cooling vanes. There are a couple oddballs out there that angle them forward though. Endless has made kits like that, and some that go back like normal. Even if the discs don't have directional cooling vanes, if there are slots or holes in the face there is usually still a left and right and they are still meant to face a certain direction... if the company making them is any good at least. If they are just cheap rotors though, it probably won't hurt much if they are flipped around.
