Looking at this GTO...

Passed by a dealership here in Lawrenceville and this beautiful GTO caught my eye.

Very nice and when I got to check it out more, I saw why

They want 4k for a down payment. I was like WTF..

It has the SAP kit (sport appearance package) which is now pretty sought after. Not sure Id pay $20k for it, but unless you come with cash, i doubt they will drop the price much. Midnight blue (similar to Navy blue metallic) is a great, rare color for the GTO. with 6 speed tranny and black leather, thats a great setup.

Honestly, if I were looking at a GTO (and I might be in about a year) this is pretty much what I would want.

I see alot of parts on that car... But $20k for a 7 year old car that's probably been driven to hell and back is hardly realistic.

its a sales pitch. that is not strange...used car salesmen are almost as bad as politicians.

i didnt go down to see all of those parts before.

fast intake mani, K&N intake, pedders suspension, aftermarket rear end, magnaflow exhaust, kooks headers (cant see which brand)... those are most of the mods that I would get, so for the OP, if thats what you would want, then it might be worth it.

The car doesnt look to be beat. Of course it needs to be test driven, and listen for engine knock. people tend to use 87 octane on them while high grade is recommended. this causes a nasty knock.

There's one up here in the price range with no miles on it, may not be an exact "comp" to that blue one, but still a goat, and close..

Either way, they make my sticker peck out man, if you like it, leap on it..just try to get it on the cheap!!

anyways, it has ALL the popular bolt on mods. it could have been driven to hell and back and beat to death, but it looks like one that was taken good care of.

test drive it. but you might want a G8 instead. gto's have a worthless trunk, and the back seats are tight to reach.
hard to live with everyday, but a great toy.

i didnt see an asking price. how much?

not hatin' on the car. I just think they want to much for it. My reply was basically aimed at BJPBrandon's post though, because he sounded like he splooged on the screen when he saw it.

Seriously, like you said they don't have much of a trunk and the back seat is hard to get to and not that comfortable for other than short trips. They are essentially a two seater and usually only used by one person. If that's all you need and you want a rwd v8 sports car, you would be better off getting a used C5/C6 vette. You can find older ones for the same price as that GTO (or less), and they are a better car. Stronger rear end, room for bigger tires without needing fender flares, you can get a hatch with more trunk space, etc etc...

Same color as mine. Back seat has plenty room, once you get back there. that car has a good bit of money into suspension and basic bolt ons. But you could definitely do better on price if you are patient. I got mine bone stock from a guy on craiglist for less than $14k.

... So Im the one who gets called out!
Lol That GTO is probably one of the best ones I have ever seen, and its really not close to stock at all! Ive never seen that front splitter piece like that before, so that looked really nice to me, they suspension looks like an amazing set-up as well! ... so yeah I guess I have the right to splooge! The Goat is gonna be my next car!

Other than the black exterior it looks nice. I can't/won't own a black car due to being too anal retentive about swirls, scratches, water drops etc. Its like having white carpet in a car...more work than its worth and it will never hide anything.

$20k is a liiiittle over the top for an 05 even with 40k on the clock. id rather have the black 06 base model they offer for 15k which i dont see many differences between the two. the 6.0 is a freakin monster i love that engine. and they can put out some pretty impressive numbers. and i love the fact that GM's have 6spd's. id kill for a T56...
