id say around 8 if someone doesn't give you pointers... 5 is what you really need. One for the ets one for left window and left lock. one for the right window button and right door lock button. that's all. The ones in the back dont light up

I ordered 40 blue 3mm LEDS, yaaaaaay!!!

I have a question now about the lights behind the ac knobs. Are they replacable with led's?

I'm too ignorant to find out myself.

But that's won't change the color of the knobs. It changes the color around the knobs. The words and numbers of the fan speeds is what it changes. The knobs that you use to turn on the fan, change temp, and vent selection is what he is talking about.

oops, my bad, i thought u meant hvac controls. sorry guys. ur never gonna change the color of the knobs, cause behind that vinyl, the knobs are red. so either way, their gonna be glowing red. unless u find knobs from another car that are clear behind.

if i decide to just use 12volt LED will i have to use a resistor and do all that nonsense? or would it pretty much be a plug and play type thing, just switch the bulbs. and any idea of a site where i can get the 12volt ones. i'm thinking it might be worth the money (depending on how much) to just get the 12volts. as long as i can just replace them. thanks again.

Just did this Mod yesterday. they look great. I had a bunch of 5mm Blue LED's that I have used elsewhere in my car so I wanted them to match. That turned out to be a little bit of a pain cuase I had to fit the LED and the resistor in a very tight area. Thanks to whoever it was that started this thread.

Varad sells 12v interior lighting kit LED's and no you won't need resistors. Just wire them up to power/ground.

Are they big??

The problem is there's no space in the switch for anything but a 3mm LED, the way the plug fits...

I know this as well. I was going to post up but I forgot. :/ There is a pic on GMPT.com. Someone was switching the stock window switch lights to Varad Blue leds. I'll try and find the pic.
