How-To: Install "Indiglo" White Faced Gauges
1. Remove the Upper Steering Column panel.
I did this by lowering the steering wheel as far as it would go, and then put my index fingers in between the room that was in between the wiper switch and the turn signal switch. Then, with a steady force I lifted upwards. Depending on your strength it may be harder for some. Once you have the panel off set it aside out of the way. ![]() 2. Remove the instrument panel trim. There are four screws all together that need to be removed in order to get the trim piece off. The first two are on the top of the trim. You will need a Phillips head screwdriver in order to get them out. Once those are out you will need to get a 9/32" socket and ratchet w/extender. The next two screws are on the bottom of the instrument panel (IP) cluster. You will see these once the steering column panel is removed. Use the 9/32" socket and remove those two screws. Once all the screws are removed grab the sides of the trim piece and pull. It may take a little force to get them out, but you could probably push the clips in with a screwdriver as well. There are a total of three clips on the trim piece. Two of them are located on the far left and far right side of the trim about half way up. Centered on the top (where the two curves come to a point) of the trim piece you will find the third clip. 3. Remove the Instrument Panel Cluster. With the trim piece removed you will have access to the two remaining screws holding the IP cluster in. These two screws are located in the top right and top left hand corners of the cluster. Use your 9/32" socket to remove these screws. Once you have all the screws removed pull the gauges out. The easiest way is to bring the bottom outwards towards you. Once you have the cluster lying horizontaly angle it so that the right side is sticking out of the dash a little bit. On the right hand side you will see a set of wires plugged into the cluster. Remove them and proceed to pull the cluster out of the dash. 4. Install the Indiglo White Face Gauges (IWFG). Note: These gauges do not come with any tape or sticky surface on the backing. You will need to go to a local Arts and Crafts store or somewhere else where they sell double-sided poster tape. You need something that is very thin but sticky on both sides. Unlike the WFG that PFYC sells, the Indiglo ones are to be applied directly over the existing cluster and the needles do not need to be removed. You may move the needles as needed but, do not pull them off. This makes things 10x easier so that you do not have to recalibrate anything. Take the pieces out of the box and put tape along the edges or wherever you see fit. Then, proceed to slide the Tachometer overlay on the needle. I found that taking the back side of the tape off was a lot easier than waiting to take it off once I had everything aligned as well. To align the tach. up with the old one I simply eyeballed it. I pushed the needle down till it hit the peg. Then I saw how much space was between that and the first tick mark. Then I proceeded to eyeball the new gauge and stick it down. Once that side is down make sure the cutout for the Trip/Odometer is flush. Then stick it down the rest of the way. Do the same thing for the Speedometer. For the rest of the overlays you will need to hook the cluster back up. Just set the cluster on the steering column and plug it in. Then, get the Gas and Temp. overlays slid on the needles. Take the tape off of one of them, and then turn the car to the "ON" position. This will do a POST test and all of your lights will light up. Quickly, line up light on the gauge and stick the overlay down. Do the same for the other gauge. For the 'Dummy' light overlays you will need to do the same process several times before you get them lined up perfectly. Take your time and it should come out looking great. 5. Installing the Switch.
Note: You can put this wherever you like but I put mine in the cubby on the driver’s side. To remove this piece, get a screwdriver. There are two clips holding it in. Stick the screwdriver between the dash and the cubby and pry the piece out. Once this is removed, take the resistor box on the strand of wire and make an outline of it. Use whatever tool necessary to cut this piece out. Once you are done making the cutout, make sure the box slides through the hole effortlessly. Next, take your switch and position it where you would like it to be mounted. Mark the two holes and drill them out. I held my switch in place with two bolts(Screws may be substituted but I recommend using bolts). Now, slide the wire and the resistor box through the opening you made earlier and then bolt, or screw, in the switch. There will be a wire with four plugs being fed up to your IP cluster and the power wire fed through to your fuse box. I ran the cluster wire behind the plastic piece where the IP cluster actually mounts. You can place it wherever you would like. ![]() Now, once you have the wires where you want them, mount the resistor box to the dash. I did this by applying double-sided foam tape and sticking it down. Running power to the cluster is up to you. I originally wanted to hook the cluster up to my parking light fuse but, the fuse is located under the hood. I opted for the Stereo fuse instead. Look at your owners manual to see what all the fuses run to. You may find that you want to use a different fuse (Sorry_Officer ran his to the wiper fuse). Next, pull out the fuse and stick the power wire (red) in and plug the fuse back in. I then wrapped the ground wire (red/black) around a screw that I found in the fuse box. Note: Make sure you ground it to an UNPAINTED surface! Once that is done you are ready to remount the cluster and plug everything in. Now, by hooking up the power wire to the fuses, you will have your gauges lit up at all time. To have them turn on only when you flip the switch to your parking lights or headlights you will have to run the power wire (red) to your Fog Light panel. To remove this, simply put a flat head screwdriver underneath the bottom part and pry it off. From there you have to tap into the Gray wire, which is the power wire for your dimmer switch. 6. Reinstalling the IP Cluster.
First, Insert the cluster back into the dash board. Then, Plug the IP cable back into the IP Cluster and hook up all the wires to the Indiglo Gauges. Next, Insert the IP cluster back into the dash and line it up with the screw holes, screw the two screws in the top of the cluster first, and then put Trim piece back on. Next, screw in the bottom two screws that hold the IP Cluster and the Trim piece together. Finally, screw in the two that hold the trim piece to the top of the dash. ![]() ![]() Congratulations you’re done! Disclaimer: I will not be held responsible for any damage that may occur do to human error, nor will I claim responsibility if some of my methods do not work. Also, I do not believe the gauges will work on the 01+ model years because they have a second tab on the Tachometer and Speedometer. You may be able to customize it to fit but I can’t help there. Sorry about digging this from the dead but I have a question
Can these be installed without using the area where the idiot lights are? It looks like there's two pieces I love how these look but I'd like to keep the black out look over the idiot lights in the daytime Has anyone tried this? Does any of the factory orange light show at night if you only use the number area itself? The white face guages that PFYC sells is the daytime look I want (white gauges, blackout idiot lights) but I want the reverse glow look at night. Thanks to anyone who replies. The indiglo guages I have are 6 different panels. Tach, MPH, Gas, Temp, and the 2 idiot panels. You could not put them on and just disconnect them from the harness.
Also I used 3M Scotch clear double sided tape. They sell it at Target and Staples... |

you can get all the indiglo gauges at andys auto sport..ther running a sale on them .... but the bezel can be purchased on ebay for 12 $ ..

i just installed my silver gauges without the idiot light part...i tried to use it but the gauges fit horrible so it wasnt even a close fit looks ok without them tho no biggie
