Hey guys, I recently got a 2004 GA GT sedan....

I removed the #22 relay this evening, started the car back up and got no check engine light

So it looks like that'll work.

I was gettin tired of only being able to run parking lights and fogs just in the dark!

Also, armith, I live in Boardman, right by Youngstown!

I was thinkin of replacing my fog light bulbs with something else, how easy are they to change? They take an 880 correct?

I was just wondering...but after I did my DRL over-ride, I noticed that I had independent foglights now. Is this normal??? I have a 2001, so I had all of the extra hard work to do with the wiring, but is independent fogs normal when disabling the DRLs? I'm sure I could read the whole thread again, but 15 pages is a bit much for me...thanks!!

Yes after i did the DRL mod it give me control over my fogs. Me like, i just have to mod them to stay on with the high beams.

Ok, I was just making sure. I couldn't remeber if I had read something that said that that is what would happen or not, considering this thread is 15 pages now. Oh well, Thanks Armith, I too need to get it set up to run highs and fogs. Do you know, I am not totally familiar with our headlight system, can we set it up to run lows, highs, and fogs at the same time??

Thanks again,
later,
Terry

If you do the independant fog light mod you can run with highbeams on.

I assume when you say tie the two together, you mean splice them together?

ALso, can some IM me the foglight mod instructions? I just read a few posts on I think it was page 13 and assume that they are not listed in the thread anywhere.

Thanks

tie= splice. I guess your right not very clear.. I'm actually picturing someone knotting up their wiring.. I really should consolidate the instructions. Maybe put the how-to in one thread (maybe locked) and just leave all other questions or comments on this thread.

Very great mod. I did them both and took me all of 30 minutes maybe. Armith, could I get the fog light mod from you?

Thanks for the great How-To on these.

I didn't post this earlier because there wasn't really anyone interested in this. So in the spirit of keeping the thread from getting out of control I posted only the basics and PMed everything else... But there seems to be a lot of interest and as for the thread.. 15 pages not nice little how-to anymore.. so here it is.. enjoy.. I'll get the consolidated instructions for All mods for all models 99-04 together and either post it on another thread or maybe just make a downloadable PDF document.

independent fog

Things needed – standard relay (4 pin)

Access your BCM,

Connector C1 (gray, 16 pin) locate pin A2, (they are labeled) it’s a dark green/white wire. This is the BCM control wire for the fog lamp relay. I.e. when this wire has a ground the fog lights go on.

Connector C3 (pink, 24 pin) pin A4 is a orange wire. This is the wire coming from the stock fog light switch. When the switch is closed this wire has a - charge.

Cut these two wires. Take pin 86 of the relay (pins are labeled on the side of relay) and connect to ground.

Connect pin 85 to a switched 12 volt source. A good spot would be the sunroof fuse in the fusebox on that side of the car. Don’t worry if you don’t have a sunroof, you’ll still have the fuse and its functional.

Connect the orange wire (not the end coming out of the BCM) to pin 87 of the relay.

Connect the dark green/white wire (again not the end of the wire coming out of the BCM) to pin 30 of the relay.

Tape off the wires you cut coming out of the BCM with electrical tape.
