Just pulled Relay #22 and it seems to of worked.

Ill check it tonight and see if there is any dimming in the lights, but i think its safe to say
that works of 2004's for sure.

pretty sure 2003 and 2004 are the same for the drl's, the resister thing is for the auto headlights.

Yep up until the sensor picked up on the amount of light the running lights stayed off... easy part done.

So now i have to bypass the ALC and i have no idea what I'm doing.

I seen on some page someone took a resistor out of a computer monitor? Or what could i use and what do i have to do?

Id greatly appreciate pictures IF possible

there is alot of info on all these pages, probably pics. however it boils down to 2 ways to do it.
first, maybe easiest, pull the sensor out, top of the dash under the defrost grill, and put a 10watt resister in. radio shack has them cheap. all it has to do is go from pos to neg on the wiring. that tells the bcm that there is sunlight on the sensor.

the second is still simple but not quite. especially considering how much of a pain in the ass the sensor is.

you take the wires at the bcm and cut them and splice the resister in there.
that way has its pitfalls too, the bcm is under the pass side of the dash under the glove box.

What i did to my car. It's a pain to get at the sensor in the vent, on my car i did not have a lot wire.

No Auto lights for 01-04
The two wires that connect the light sensor to the BCM, just tie them together with a 10 Ohm resistor (radio shackfor like $5) in-line A3 the yellow/black wire, and B2 light green/black wire

all of this is on the center connector

I pulled the #22 relay a while back, and the system was working perfectly. I had total control of the lights. I took the car to the dealership and had them reprogram my keyless entry which mysteriously stopped working. They also where supposed to find out why my cruise control stopped working. My car is a 2004 GT as well...

I got the car back with working keyless remotes and non working cruise because they said they would charge extra to findout what that problem was (BS) . What is worse is that now my SVS light stays on whenever my headlights are not engaged. I replaced the relay and still no good. I really wish that someone could tell me what to do to fix this problem. I still think that the Multitec II device that the service guy used had something to do with this.

Any takers on this???

For the 03+, just pull the DRL relay. That's it.

The SVS light comes on regardless of whether or not I have the #22 relay pulled
. Is there anything else that I could check?

Take it and have it scanned. places like autozone will do it for free and tell you what the problem is.

They only have engine scanners, you need one that reads body control module, lots of indy shops have them, or get a cheap one online.
I bought a program that runs on my laptop with a connector to the car.
It costs about $120 but well worth it over the expense of taking it to someone.

WOW GOOD INFO!!!! Where can I find this Indy Shop? Better yet, do you have a link to where I can find the BCM program? That would probably save me another $100 at the stealership.

And no you cannot scan the SVS light at Autozone. The only thing that can be scanned is the SES light. I work for Autozone part time.

This is what I bought. I am sure there are others too though.

As for the indy shop, any bigger mech shop might have something. best bet grab the yellow pages and call around ask if they can scan the BCM on your car.

Pulling the DRL relay on the +03 models doesn't set off the SVS light, so there is another problem at hand.

Correct! The problem did not occur until after the service technician used the Multitec II device to check my car at the dealership. The SVS light ONLy comes on
when the ADL sensor disengages. If I do not have the headlights manually turned on during the day then I get an SVS code.

IDK if I missed it, but what gauge wire can be used for the override?

12 I think 14 just seems too small and 10 or bigger just gets in the way.

i just did this on my '01... it had an interesting effect that i don't recall reading in the 28 pages of this .... my DRL's are now off (no SVS light)... but i can turn on the fog lights without the headlights or parking lights being on... so i can have DRLs if i want them ....

So if I disable DRL, I will be able to manually select parking lamps and foglights at daytime or dusk. I just want those on with no headlights. Currently as is, at dusk there is too much ambient light so if I want fogs/parkings only I cant select it because DRL is on also. However once the auto lights turn on I can select park/fog without headlights. This doesnt do any good however because its too dark.

I do like auto lights so dont want to disable them, just pointless DRL. I am correct in assuming I can run foglights in the evening before dark?

Thanks
