ETS OFF
dont stomp on it. feather it or youll do nothin but roast em (unless you got slicks, then mash that mother****er).

go on the second yellow.
red
yellow
yellow <--go
green

you're reaction time will be alot lower, and once you get the hang of it, red lighting wont be an issue anymore.

thats really all I pay attention to. basic stuff

Yes but wouldn't it be more interesting to see him do a 40 ft. burnout, then a little squeak when he hits second gear? But then, what kind of idiot would do that while racing? Cartainly no one like Tim. Then again, he also had an issue with the ETS once.

depending on how sticky the launch pad is. i would say try slamming the gas first pass and see what your wheel spin is the back off from there. if they use the sticky spray you won't spin you could break if enough power.

Milan is notoriously slick. Don't expect any traction at all. Here are my tips:

At the line, hold the brake with your left foot while lightly depressing the accelerator with your right foot (while in gear). You should be able to bring the engine to around 1500+rpm without the car moving forward. This is called stalling the tranny and gives you greater power from a standing start. If you roast the tires try stalling from a lower rpm.
Putting the gear selector in 3rd gear gives you higher shift points (which is good)
ETS off!
No big burnouts, just a quick spin to get the debris off the tires.
DON'T go through the water (for a burnout) as the water gets in the tire treads and leaks out while you stage, giving you a nice puddle for launching.
AC off!
Take your floormat out (you might be suprised how many people lose tenths by not fully depressing the accelerator!)
For the lowest times remove all possible weight, ie: seats, spare, etc.

Any more tips guys and gals?

make sure your battery is tight
hub caps off, if you have them
Nothing hanging from car
Make sure no leaks

That way Tech goes fast and smooth.

Roll up that Damn window
Turn off the stereo
If you roll through the staging beams, back up. don't sit there and look stupid.
Don't try to use you doughnut tire

Nobody likes being delayed because of not using common sense

for those who don't know when you come up to the line go slow. your front tires have to break the pre stage beams then the stage beams. Once you have turned on the stage light on the christmas tree then get ready to watch and go.

If you don't know what to do ask an offical.

Oh and if you haven't broke the beams watch for the offical starter to knock on your window. he will direct you. Oh don't **** him off or any other officals.

If it's your first time at a track, just watch first. While you're watching just ask someone any questions you may have and pay attention to the way things work. Everyone there had a first time, too. In addition to everything else stated above, make sure you know where the finish line is. It's not the speed traps (big towers with times on them), it's 66 ft. after that. I learned that my first time the hard way.

the traps consist of 3 beams.

1. starts measuring your speed

2. clocks your E.T and is the actual finish line

3. ends measuring your speed and then computes what your mph is for that E.T.

This why somethimes you'll some people running same E.T. but lttle different speeds because they let off before 3rd beam.

With our cars you can hold it to the floor all the way thru the traps then let off, during time trials. For bracket racing you might have to let off early so you don't go faster than your dial-in.

Also.....if any of your lugs are broken and/or you have lug nuts missing, you can't race.

And no loose aticles allowed in your car. If it isn't bolted down, it should come out.

Allright so im gonna empty my car out and put as much crap in the hotel as possible, im just wondering about my subs, i have an easily removeable box in the trunk, will we have a spot at the track to put stuff out of our cars without having to worry about it sitting around, being stolen or damaged? I'd even like to throw my spare tire and jack aside to!
