i thought that Alero concept was after the Alero came out?? (i'm most likely wrong though)

...even still... it was reported that the G6 concept gave "strong hints" towards the Grand Am replacement... the Solstice spy photos i posted look just like the concept, the SSR looks like it's concept, as does the Hummer H2... so GM has shown recently that it can make cars to resember their concept form... i just don't know why they only do it for some and not for all

heh

Isn't funny how people bitch about everything. You win a few you lose a few I guess.

I'm just going to sit back and watch as most of you people back peddle when a top of the line *GT or GXP or heck, whatever they call it* comes out.

I opened my mouth about the Mali. but the SS model Malibu they are showing has my attention and makes me wanting to take back everything bad I said about the car. That car looks sweet in SS form, that is if thats the production version they are showing at the auto shows.

You atleast have to happy that it doesn't look as ugly as the new split grills Nissans and Mitus. I'm more likely to vomit looking at a Nissan Quest than the new G6. It takes time to get use to a complete change of a car, like the Integra to the RSX and the C-4 Corvette to the C-5, old Nissan Maxima vs. the new one and so on down the line. Plus grey makes almost any car look fugely, so just sit tight until thye unvail the thing in coming months. Theres little ticky tack things I don't like but who cares, no one car is perfect in any way.

I don't know what you've been looking at but the Malibu, Malibu Maxx, and Malibu Maxx SS are all ugly. Extremely ugly!!! All of them.

OK, lemme just say that the chops are ****ing retarded and it makes the car look even worse each time you chop it more because it doesn't belong in the pic and it is easy to see that. And the last one was especially stupid because you could have just taken the background of the spy shot and put it on the background of a photo of a G6 and it would have looked a lot better....in other words, putting the G6 on there like that is pointless.

On a second note, you guys are too funny. A concept photo comes out of an unconfirmed car and all of the sudden it's "aw **** man, GM sucks I'm never going back cuz they're gonna f*** up my Grand Am," and then the others stare hopefully at horrible photochops and call them "improvements." First of all, this is just a prototype, which can easily be seen by the shoddily put together rear end, meaning that the final version (which is quite a ways off) will most likely be very different. Second of all, this isn't even confirmed as the next Grand Am, it could be anything from a Sunfire to a Cavy to a Saturn, which is easily plausible.

Now you could all very well be right about the design and GM could be f***ing up the GA. However, I think it is stupid to place any sort of value on these dumb pictures. Just sit back and wait and what happens happens, it's not fair to judge something before you know anything about it at all. Sure you might say "well if we express our disgust they'll change it." Well guess what, at the speed GM operates at, you're too late in the game if you think any of your input will have the slightest impact on their design. Any changes hereon out are at the will of their designers and engineers and execs.

, you raise some valid points man. I was one of the people saying I'm never going back to GM because of the picture. I'm actually going to apologize for that, because I was going to say that no matter what the picture was. And I agree, the car clearly has no resemblance to the new grand am, nor does it resemble any G6 concept. It is probably some other car and we are all just acting like idiots.

Vtec... i just want to say that it can't be the next Sunfire... the Sunfire is not changing when Chevy drops the Cavy in '05... the U.S. is keeping the current J-body Sunfire, while Canada will be getting the Epsilon-based Pursuit... oooh... maybe this is a Canadian test mule car ...but i just wanted to let everyone know that don't expect a Sunfire replacement in the states... so if this turns out to not be the G6, but rather the Pursuit then we won't be getting it...

i agree with some of your points v-tech, but that is deff. a G6. the lines,(shape of tails, shape of doors, shape of windows, shape of trunklid, even the shape of the headlight internals) match the G6. Yes, proportions are different, but lines are similar or the same. We all said when the concept came out it wasnt production ready. the roof was to low, wheels to big, etc etc. production on such a car would be hella expensive, so they had to tone it down. this is it guys. just keep in mind,,, that masking is there for a purpose,,, to throw the looks off. All of the photochops are to give a hint at what it could look like under that masking but we wont know till the pull the wraps off at the auto show this jan. These spy pics arent meant to show detail. Id say to everyone, here is a hint, but wait til the real thing is seen this winter before you claim it the ugly ducking.... but i can say with almost all certainty, this (imo) is deffinatly the 2005 pontiac G6.

they only look like that cause a point they have in them is covered by camo. they will be very very very close if not the same as the G6. if i would say they resemble a current production car i would point more towards the newer taurus
