Arrow Carbon Fiber Hood

I was over on the ga owner's club earlier and one member had found a company willing to make CF hoods for the 96-98 GA's at $495 a pop if they had ten preorders. I can't imagine that the price would be far off for us 99+ GA's. Would you guys be interested at $495? I haven't got any hard info, in fact I haven't even emailed them, but how many of you would be interested in this?

if it's for $495 and actually made 100% than you've got a buyer

i'm not willing to try for some weaker fiberglass hood w/ a wafer thin carbon fiber layer on top to make it look pretty..

I'm in for the weight savings

Hi all, I am Matt Sparks and I am the person that is helping Aleromod.com get their CF Hoods. As aleroboy pointed out there is a GREAT thread on their board that will answer almost anything you could think of.

Anyway, if you guys want one, then I can do it but I need the same criteria met for GAGT that I needed for the Alero.

I'll need:

1. a hood that is in mint condition of your choosing (stock, scooped, modded)
2. a first order w/ money
3. a couple weeks to make it

Its really pretty simple, but there is a few things are not so easy. The hood will be hood pinned only (no hinges), no fiberglass underbody, and will be $600/piece + $100 shipping w/ no group buy or discounts of that sort. Hinged *might* be possible but it is expensive.

What I personally would suggest doing is reading the aleromod.com board thread completely through and if you have any questions at all, then fire away.

This is a very "doable" project and hope to hear from you soon.

Okay I got a response from the guy I was talking to about this and here's what he said:

"Yes we do small orders, but there are two small problems, first a 100% carbon fiber hood is fine but the cost to make it no one will pay. A real 100% carbon hood would cost $800.00-$1000.00, the material cost is extreme, if you can sell them for that kind of money I will be glad to assist you otherwise the only alternative is the carbon/fiberglass and I will do them for $550.00 ea I hope this helps you thanks, Kenny"

So we can get the carbon/fiberglass one for $550 through these people. This guy WILL make these though. If you want a CF hood, he WILL do it. If any of you are still interested in this offer, pm me and I'll give you some of the contact/purchase details.

stock CF hood. I want one. as for SCT style cf hood

Ram air cf hood held on with pins only would rattle like you wouldn't believe. Especially weighing 6 lbs.

John I am down with a stocker.

yeah I like the idea of 100% CF, but I do not want to have hood pins. I would prefer to use the stock latch/hinge system. If that's not possible (don't really see why not, but...) then count me out.

well even ones designed to use the stock latch they recomend hood pins.
the hood is so light it's easy for the wind to catch it and well then you wish you had pins.
I'm working on a hinged rear/pinned front for my car. then we have to work out somthign with this guy for more hoods I'm pretty much the test mule agian. then we go from there.

I can deal with Pins but if it doesn't have hinges I won't buy one. I don't want to take the whole hood off to check the oil.
